More later, but the budget was "slashed"? Really. The budget is essentially flat.
Tuition increases have far, far, far outstripped inflation. State support has slightly dropped but overall spending is way up.
How many non-teaching positions have been added? Have the hours taught by instructors gone up or down?

From 2002 to 2012 inflation was 25%, state aid decreased -.1% and tuition increased 137% in Kansas.
I'm a lifetime member of the alumni assoc. I bet the above factoid was given to the Board.
Kansas spends a lot on higher Ed compared to other states.
The comments by Regents members about the cuts were a bit over the top. Just as it is with K12, more $$ does not equal better results.

I meant was not given to the alumni assoc board. I'll start a thread on the off topic board

I can just envision coach Butler and his family enjoying Shocker basketball games court side next season. Something I never saw Gene Stephenson do.
That's another thing I love about this hire. I have a sense that coach Butler and his family will not only embrace the baseball program, but Wichita State athletics as a whole.
