Very poised, confident and positive. He will stay heavily involved in recruiting becuase he likes it and he is good at it. Will focus on pitching in building the team especially with the BBCOR bats. Likes big storng guys at the corners and in left and right but also wants to have good team speed. Wants to be aggressive.
Saying all the right things and in the right way. High energy. HCTB will have no problem winning over the returning players and the incoming recruits. I think he will also win over the fans in fairly short order.
It's all that you want. He was extremely complimentary of Gene and his accomplishments. Thinks the facilities are amazing, especially the Bombardier Practice Facility. He seems genuinely thrilled to be a part of our program. I think he wants to own it.
Butler says he is a little guy so his aim is to be the smallest guy on the team (ergo, he likes to recruit big guys -- or at least bigger than himself). Also said since the switch of bats, hitting (i.e., home runs) is down drastically. I believe he indicated his focus was going to be on getting really good pitching for BK to work with. He sounds like he is really looking forward to being here. We'll just have to wait and see what happens but we have to remember that he will probably need two or three years at the very least to get HIS type of team in so everyone just needs to give him that time.
I'll try to listen to the podcast when it's out, but from what I've read on here, Todd sounds like he has the kind of enthusiasm that Gregg Marshall has.
Also, is there any indication, from what he said (maybe listening between the lines), that WSU was his dream job if Gene were to retire or be fired, etc.
