"Gene recruited me, but was a little late. I had already committed to the University of Oklahoma."

    Ouch.

It sounds like he was our #1 target from the get-go!

Very poised, confident and positive. He will stay heavily involved in recruiting becuase he likes it and he is good at it. Will focus on pitching in building the team especially with the BBCOR bats. Likes big storng guys at the corners and in left and right but also wants to have good team speed. Wants to be aggressive.

Saying all the right things and in the right way. High energy. HCTB will have no problem winning over the returning players and the incoming recruits. I think he will also win over the fans in fairly short order.

Doesn't like sacrifice bunting early in the game.

It's all that you want. He was extremely complimentary of Gene and his accomplishments. Thinks the facilities are amazing, especially the Bombardier Practice Facility. He seems genuinely thrilled to be a part of our program. I think he wants to own it.

Butler says he is a little guy so his aim is to be the smallest guy on the team (ergo, he likes to recruit big guys -- or at least bigger than himself). Also said since the switch of bats, hitting (i.e., home runs) is down drastically. I believe he indicated his focus was going to be on getting really good pitching for BK to work with. He sounds like he is really looking forward to being here. We'll just have to wait and see what happens but we have to remember that he will probably need two or three years at the very least to get HIS type of team in so everyone just needs to give him that time.

I know everybody loves you when you win, but you can tell this guy is going to be good with the guys that pay the bills.

                        ZERO doubt imho.

Says he likes to recruit the midwest from Texas on North. Likes the toughness of midwest kids.

He wants to develop the average player into a good player, the good player into a great player and the great player into a superstar.

That is good since that is a losing strategy.

When Marshall is talking up his team after he is done I'm ready to go lace 'em up and go play. After he's done you're thinking where do I sign.

I'm ready to go find the leather. This guy gives you that feeling.

I'll try to listen to the podcast when it's out, but from what I've read on here, Todd sounds like he has the kind of enthusiasm that Gregg Marshall has.

Also, is there any indication, from what he said (maybe listening between the lines), that WSU was his dream job if Gene were to retire or be fired, etc.
