Holy hyperbole batman. I will give you a few examples of moves that would rank higher on the "dumbest move in history of college sports" than firing Gene: 1) Allowing Gene to come back from OU. 2) Allowing our stadium to be named after Eck 3) Not firing the staff after the Molina incident

For some unknown reason, I am uncomfortable with Coach Kemnitz's role in the hiring process.

How often does an assistant coach play a major role in the hiring of his boss?

Why is Coach Kemnitz talking to the media about the status of the hiring process?

Is the tail wagging the dog?

Does Coach Kemnitz's involvement make AD Sexton look weak?

Can anyone imagine AD Schaus joining with an assistant coach in the selection of a major sport head coach, who will be the boss of the assistant coach?

Does Coach Hooper fit Wichita State? Just wondering.

I wonder how Coach Stephenson feels about Coach Kemnitz along about now. Just wondering.

I mostly agree with your observations, but Brent knows college baseball and college baseball people infinitely more than ADES. I actually could see Schaus leaning heavily on Brent in this situation, although Brent being the mouthpiece for the process, I don't think Schaus would condone.

I just get the vibe that there may have been a schism within the coaching staff before all this happened. No facts to support, it just feels that way to me.

Honestly, since YOU don't like Kemnitz that makes it very easy for me to like him. You seem to have a one track mind and you're stuck. You are such a downer at a time when this program needs to be lifted in spirit. If you can't reconcile yourself to this, please go away and leave alone those of us who are more into the program than into an individual (GS). Gene has a good friend in you and he needs some of those right now. GS did, as many on here have already said, a great deal for this program and all of that is greatly appreciated. I'm sure Sexton would have rather had Gene leave on better terms, but he did need to leave. You can complain all you want, but the deed is done. I, for one, am really tired of hearing all the negativity spewing out of your mouth (or fingers, actually). Please, leave this alone and accept the inevitable. There are better and far more important things to complain about.

Yeah, I don't believe BC did it intentionally, but how gene handled it and what was allowed to be said after it by both gene and kemnit set the program back. It is also why kemnitz was never given a shot to be a HC
