I'm guessing that the statement about talking to hundreds of people did not refer to talking to hundreds of candidates, but to all of the people they consulted to get advice and recommendations about various potential candidates.

Well Galloway to Auburn is done. Castiglione, the OU AD (respected and popular although I've always believed he was in WAY over his head and he never impressed me one iota) reportedly got crossways with Sonny starting 2 seasons ago.

I expect Heefner to take the job, and that is probably (about 99%) why he turned us down, if we in fact ever offered him.

It seems strange to me that people on here are willing to take reports from a sports show as gospel and then become naysayers when they get information from people within the athletic department and question what they report. Not saying which would be more accurate but I will take what Sullentrop reports with a little more grain of thruth.

Holy hyperbole batman. I will give you a few examples of moves that would rank higher on the "dumbest move in history of college sports" than firing Gene: 1) Allowing Gene to come back from OU. 2) Allowing our stadium to be named after Eck 3) Not firing the staff after the Molina incident
