Lets just hope that is a cover story for interviews? I think Schaus did interviews in Dallas.

Business goes on. Do you really think he is sitting on his laurels and not doing anything. Why doesn't everybody just take a step back and give Sexton a chance without all of this second-guessing. You are going on rumors (My God are you REALLY listening to ShockKansas on this and what he reports his neighbors are telling him). Why not wait for some facts to come to the surface. Get off Eric's back and give him a chance to do his job.

Come on Ricky. He has plenty of athletic department experience. And a resume that is second to none.

I don't think it'll look too good if any of these rumors come out as fact, and a big money offer was turned down by a coach from Dallas Baptist. That certainly wouldn't look well to outsiders.

              ... No really, deuces.

Also, no mention of Hooper good/bad/indifferent.
Man, you must be a very important guy.

Thanks again for your continued interest in Shocker athletics.

Told ya so. It's a great day to be a Shocker. :)

Those who are Butler backers better look at what happened toFrank Anderson at Oklahoma State (who was a big name as an assistant at Texas prior to OSU). He tanked their program quickly. As I've stated before, Hooper is a risk but his upside is enormous. Hoop will be a good hire from the outset and will grow into a great hire.

Well, if you wanted a good young coach he has good hitting teams - it is a sad day to be a Shocker. He was ranked #5 by BA as one of Top 10 coaches under 40 in college baseball. He also also one of the youngest coaches to get to 200 wins. He also a midwest guy that would uave opended more territory. Wsu is not going to get anybody else on that list.

So all programs who hire hot assistants will tank, and Kevin Hooper is a guaranteed success?

I will be alright with either hire but it makes more sense for you to just say that your preference for Hoop is a personal one.

After looking into Butler history he has "danger" written all over it. I think there will be more patience with a Hooper hire than with a Butler hire. Frankly if your going to take a risk on somebody - I go with the guy with higher upside which is Hooper.

Yeah, I hear ya on Butler's history...he didn't do much to get excited about at McNeese State. I guess the hope is that he grew and developed over the last 10 years at Alabama and Arkansas, and that his recruiting mojo will carryover here. Certainly no guarantee.

You're also right about fans being more patient with Hooper.

I was mostly pointing out that saying because Frank Anderson sucked, Todd Butler would also suck is a poor argument against him. Both of these guys (Hoop and Butler) are honestly a pretty big shot in the dark. I also am disappointed in the lack of attention Standiford is receiving, as I feel he is more qualified than Hooper.

                            • What does Todd Butler and Brent Kemnitz have in common?

A: OU baseball & Anchorage Alaska Glacier Pilots

                              We shall see.

                              • So has Heefner issued his obligatory "I have withdrawn my name from consideration for the WSU Head Coaching position"? Or is that no longer something coaching candidates do?

So is the consensus then that it is now a 2-man horse race between Todd Butler and Kevin Hooper?
