Welcome to the Valley, Dallas Baptist.“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

Well, Elgin said he wanted to create more parity in the MoVal and spread the tournament around to programs that updated their facilities. InSU has done that.
Unfortunately, a WSU high tide raises all boats as indicated as to when the Valley was at its strongest. A WSU low tide lowers all boats which is indicative of the conference today.
Elgin accomplished what he wanted....... He created parity.

Everyone has the a chance to win the tournament because their is no longer a dominant program in the MVC. It has nothing to do with where the touranment is held. It's not like these other schools are getting a big home field advantage by hosting. Most of them simply do not draw that well.

I never even addressed that issue. I simply stated that there is no empirical eveidence, or at least none presented that support your conclusion that parity in MVC baseball is due to moving the tournamnent away from Wichita.

I want parity in the MVC. I would like to have all the teams in the Top 75 of the RPI. That would be great in my viewpoint. WSU has no ownership of the Valley tournament and to think that we can simply dictate where the tournament will be played is not only naive, but arrogant. You must be confusing ADES with George Bush. Everything you don't like is ADES' fault. Everyone knows that it is really George Bush's fault. I'm not sure what choice I am supposed to be making, but I readily admit I have very little, if any, influence with what happens with WSU Athletics or the MVC. So whatever choice I am supposed to be making is largely irrelevant.
This is baseball. What determines who wins this tournament has very little to do with location and everything to do with who has the best team and perhaps, more specifically, who has the strongest and deepest pitching staff.

I think your Bush / Sexton analogy might have missed the mark. ADES is the current AD. WSU will not have hosted the tournament in 4 years. BO is the current President. GWB has not been President for 5 years. No one is blaming a former AD for the current state of affairs, but rather the current AD.
Additionally, I don't agree that home field advantage plays no part in who wins the tournament; especially when there is parity.
Your "choice" in forming an opinion could very well be a catalayst for positive movement.

According to the article, the main reason they awarded the tourney to Ill. St this year was because they invested millions to build a new stadium and they gave it to Indy St next year because they are spending millions to upgrade their stadium.
If that is the real reason, then SIU will probably get the tourney in 2015 because they are in the process of spending a few million to build a new baseball stadium.
I still think the real reason is that the eastern teams don't like the long bus ride to Wichita. But if investing millions into your stadium to upgrade it is the real reason, WSU may not host again unless we upgrade our facilities again.
I really think WSU needs to try very hard to find a new conference. Awarding WSU the Volleyball tourney only seems like a slight to me. The Valley of Even is driving me nuts.
