That will make for a nice bus ride home. Terrific work by Brummett, Veilock, Sanders and Peterson in Game 2.

I have to admit I wasn't expecting a sweep this weekend, I was kinda hoping for a 2-game split and a rain out. So great job guys.

Don't quite know what to think of that 1st game. Seems like we are still searching for a reliable starting rotation. After his last 3 outings you have to feel pretty good about Garrett Brummett to go along with Cale Elam. I have no confidence at all that A.J. can get the job done. We really need Kris Gardner to find his game in the next week.

Hopefully, we get some decent weather for next weekends's series with Creighton. I think we could have some nice crowds if we do.

I probably deserve some ridicule. I have to give props to WSU. While we really gagged two of those games away, Wichita State did what you all needed to do to get the job done. More games are lost, then won. Bob Knight said something like that and I'd have to agree. WSU played more soundly than the Bears.

The first game of the day was a really, really big punch to the gut. Most teams who fell behind that big would just pack it in and come back next game. Not these Bears. They scrapped and were in position to win. And then spit the bit. Heroic effort but futile in the end. Like the Charge of the Light Brigade or something. That's going to be a really tough one to get over. Bad defense, questionable coaching--I mean you have other people who are eligible to pitch Keith.

I have to give credit to your pitchers today for pitching to contact. We didn't strike out much but we didn't hit a lot of balls hard either. I feel sort of like Pedro Martinez in 2004 when the Yankees were owning him. "The Yankees are my daddy." Well maybe Wichita State is mine. Sorta. In the end all of this doesn't mean very much. The Red Sox won the Wild Card, came back from down 3-0 in the ALCS and won the Series. I am hoping the Bears can do something akin to that in Normal which will be the weekend that defines this season because nobody is getting an at large.

Been a fan since I was a youngster. I've been a pretty consistent booster since I matriculated. Not a ton of $, but some. I don't have the same connections with Moats in charge as I did when Rowe was the man. But I talk to some people that are in the loop. But mostly I'm just a normal, run of the mill guy who is far more passionate about what 18-23 year olds do on a court, field, or diamond than I should be.

WOW! My wife and I go out of town this weekend for a niece's graduation and the Shox end up sweeping MO St. I can't believe it. Not in my wildest dreams did I think the Shox could sweep the Bears. I really thought 1 win was possible (but pretty iffy) and was just hoping we could somehow pull out 2. I still can't believe they won all 3 games. And I missed the whole thing. I didn't get to listen to a single minute of the games.

Nice coaching by the little man - leaves his reliever who was STELLAR out there for 115 pitches to take the loss. Granted the Bares defense let him down, but the guy had to be gassed. Give it to the 'closer' to slam the door, dum-bass.

Guttin has always abused his pitchers. It is no surprise he left him in today that is what he always does. If had taken him out he probably would have replaced him with someone who pitched a bunch of pitches yesterday. That is his M.O.

I am just glad that WSU was able to take advantage of it this time. They don't always do that.

Yeah, but why not bring in the closer to pitch the 9th? Guttin has a history of throwing guys long and often without regard to their arms.
