Maybe the Bears should have jumped on a bus this morning and heading over to Wichita. Could have played one, maybe two games today. Saturday looks a little iffy, but we could probably get a game in starting around 6:00 pm.
And Sunday is looking good as well (could play 2 then). Not great weather with temps in the 50's and warming into the low 60's Sunday, but that's balmy compared to what we have been playing in.
Obviously today is lousy in Springfield. Rain/Snow mix with a high of 37. Saturday temps in the 40's with rain shower chances throughout the day. The high Sunday is around 60 but with a chance of showes starting around Noon.
Hammons Field is a great park and I'm sure has state of the art drainage systems but I beleive it is a natural turf park.
Hopefully, they get enough breaks in the weather to squeeze all 3 games in.

That's what I would do. College sports are important business and there is no time to be sentimental.
There is no doubt that we have underachieved post 2003 CWS. Completely unacceptable. The expectation level for me was that we would be something like a TCU or what Coastal Carolina has become. That has not materialized. Still we are the best team in the Valley this year and maybe we can get hot and make a Stony Brook type of run. We have some pitching.
4 Valley Tournament Championships (vs 0)
4 Regular Season Championships (vs 1)
6 NCAA Tournament Appearances (vs 1)
2 Super Regional Appearances (vs 0)
0 Non Top 3 Valley Finishes (vs 4)
0 Missed Valley Tournament (vs 1)
0 Lucky to make Valley Tournament because we hosted (vs 1)
and you're talking crap about our coach.Last edited by jdmee; May 3, 2013, 03:07 PM.

So in short, I get your point. You have done well in the last decade but you still haven't been to a CWS since 1996 or a Regional since like 2009 or 2010. Hopefully we can get these three games in this weekend and settle some things in the short term. But if you go 2003-2013 I'd pick your accolades over ours, but in all honesty I would expect more as an MSU fan. This has been a bad run for us historically--if you look at us since we have been a D1 program. If Bill Rowe wasn't such a loyal guy to Keith he probably would have got the axe several years ago and Gary Gilmore could have been the guy because rumor has it he was interested about 6 years ago but probably not anymore. Regardless, if anyone in either of our Athletic Departments had the passion in their pinky finger that I have coarsing through all of my veins then both Gene and Keith would be doing nothing but golfing and playing shuffleboard for several years now.

Right now it is 57 degrees in Wichita and it is 34 degrees and snowing in Springfield, MO. Springfield remains in a winter weather advisory until 7 am on Saturday morning.
Hopefully it will clear out by game time tomorrow. Although it is suppose to be pretty cold tomorrow in Springfield.

The Redbirds end up thrashing Cu tonight 9-2 in Normal. The only conference series that the Redbirds have lost this year was to WSU. Cu can still pull it out with 2 wins, but it is looking good for the Redbirds to win another conference series.

Then you announce your superiority over not 1, but 2 athletic departments. You can barely spell but yet somehow you're both qualified and experienced enough to lead a shithole athletic program to new heights because of "passion coarsing (sic)(it's coursing by the way) through" your veins.
I don't even think "handicapped" adequately defines your problems.
