It is very cloudy today in Carbondale and very humid but the weatherman says no rain today. It rained (mostly more drizzle like) during the entire game yesterday. Hopefully it will be much better for today's game.

I see you have Ill State listed above WSU and SWOMO. Actually 10-4 would be 1/2 game ahead of 8-3. Although since the Valley plays 3 game series it is essentially a 3 way tie. If Ill State goes 2-1 in their extra series they will be tied with WSU and SWOMO for first.

The standings are determined by percentage so Illinois State being in first is accurate.
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

Accurate and stupid. I have always deplored how teams that don't play a full schedule due to rainouts or whatever get rewarded by this conference.

          Make 'em play.

Shocks win 5-2. MSU take 2 of 3 at Evansville by winning today 2-1. ISU is completing the sweep of Bradley, leading 8-2 in the 8th.

Gotta give the Shocks bullpen some credit. They have been very solid this year and probably are the strength of this year's team. Outside of that Shockers bullpen the theme to this series seemed to be the team that was the least charitable in terms of errors and free passes won.

That will probably be a key to next weeks series at MSU. Make them earn everything they get. Runs will probably be at a premium in that series.

Math - how does it work?

The only thing stupid is that some people don't understand how things work....Illinois State has already had their MVC "bye" week, and WSU's doesn't happen until later, thus the disparity in conference games played to this point.
although the best things in life are free, upgrades are usually available

Nice to win the series, but that should've been a foregone conclusion facing a team who had a 1 and 10 conference record coming into Friday's game. This would have not have been a confidence building series back in the day and its a sad state of affairs when it is now. Oh well onward and upward.

Confidence building? Winning game against sub 0.500 team with RPI of 170 is not going to build confidence, except maybe the false sense of confidence. You build confidence by beating good teams. WSU will get that chance over the next couple weekends.

Make it a long breath.... I feel a positive major season rally about to happen. :)

Your statement would make sense if we were a good team. The mistake is forgivable.

Thank you, Mr. Wizard, and maybe you don't understand baseball. MSU and WSU have a 1/2 game lead over IlSU. That's how it is done in baseball.
