Kris did start tonight against Kstate but he failed to get out of the first inning. But if the error to second hadn't happened who knows. If the Shox had turned that double play, he would have been out of the inning having given up no runs.

LOL, Gardner line was 0.2 IP, 4 H, 1 BB. He gave up 2 hits and walk after the HR.

For what it is worth. Bradley beat MAC Western division leading Northern Illinois 19-0 tonight on the road.

Baseball can be a very strange game sometimes.

And at 14-19, Northern Illinois also SUCKS. Sucky teams can beat sucky teams. I really don't understand the point of this post.

Cale Elam has been named the national pitcher of the week for his pitching performance against Bradley on Friday.

An excerpt from the article: He allowed just five singles with no walks and a career-high 13 strikeouts. The Oktaha, Okla., native struck out at least one batter in eight of nine innings and struck out multiple batters in four of the nine innings. He allowed just five base runners in the game and only three of them reached scoring position. It was the most strikeouts by a Shocker pitcher since 2011 and the first complete game shutout by a Shocker pitcher since 2011. The 13 strikeouts were also a Peoria Chiefs Stadium record for a college pitcher.

Good for Cale. Bradley is not very good but they are actually a very good hitting team. They lead the Valley in several offensive categories. He had a great outing on Friday.

Bu's overall record is not good at 12-19 but they are good hitters. The team batting average is .305. So shutting them out and getting 13 strike outs is very good against them.

Bradley plays at Missouri State this weekend. Odds are that they will get swept, but if they could pull out just one win it would help WSU a lot.

Bradley failed to help WSU today losing to the Bears 5-2.

No help today from the Braves. Bradley loses to Missouri State today 12-2. Hopefully the Braves can pull some miracle out of a hat on Sunday and take one from the Bears.

No help again today from the Bu. MoSt wins 6-2 today to get the sweep. Shox remain in a tie for first with the Bears.

Until this weekend's sweep of the Bears, this Bradley series was the only sweep by WSU this season. Interestingly enough both sweeps were on the road.

Hopefully WSU will pick up their first home sweep this weekend against Cu. It won't be easy, but the Bluejays have already been swept once this season against Indy St., a team that WSU took 2 games from.
