Current standings as per Warren Nolan. Even though Warren Nolan shows WSU 1/2 game ahead of Illinois St (traditional way of figuring baseball standings), since the Valley uses percentages, WSU is actually currently .006 behind Ill. St:

    Missouri Valley
Records include games against Division I opponents only.

    1 Wichita State 14 - 6 - 0 0.700 - 29 - 24 - 0 0.547 137 0.5096 0 - 9 - 0 5 - 5 - 0 3 Losses
    2 Illinois State 12 - 5 - 0 0.706 ½ 28 - 18 - 0 0.609 91 0.5278 3 - 6 - 0 8 - 2 - 0 1 Win
    3 Creighton 11 - 6 - 0 0.647 28 - 13 - 0 0.683 45 0.5483 3 - 3 - 0 6 - 4 - 0 4 Wins
    4 Missouri State 11 - 7 - 0 0.611 2 29 - 18 - 0 0.617 127 0.5129 1 - 4 - 0 3 - 7 - 0 2 Wins

Proudly denoting that we're the Evansville of the Valley in baseball.

Congrats to the team on their first Top 50 win in multiple attempts.
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

Actual MVC standings. WSU will have to hope that ISUR falters at least once against SIU. There is only about a 30% chance that ISUR will win all 3.

So you are saying that there is still a chance!

Actually I guess you are saying there is a 70% chance WSU will end up the #1 seed. While it is frustrating leaving your fate in someone else's hands at least the odds are pretty good this time.

Definitely more than a chance. That is based on the probabilities calculated from Boyd's World ISR. ISUR is on the road at SIU. SIU has not been swept at home. With SIU having Cody Forsyth, they have a chance to beat anyone (he is the one who beat WSU). Now if ISUR beat him - things might be getting a little dicey.

Spoiler time -- Will SIU juggle its rotation in an attempt to ensure that they win at least one, which would probably match them up with IlSt in the first round of the conference tournament, or would they just as soon face WSU (as they would if they get swept)? Or is all of that a little too deep even to think about?

Probably the latter, but I still hope for the #1 seed for WSU, however it occurs.
