  • Shocks at ORU

Shocks trail ORU 2-1 at the halfway point (heading into the bottom of the 5th).

Cale Elam on the mound for the Shocks. Kris Gardner is still ill. Cale gave up a run in the 1st and a solo homer in the 4th. I don't think Cale has had a 3-up, 3-down inning yet.

Shocks picked up a run in the top of the 4th after loading the bases with on outs. A sacrifice fly by Mikel Mucha that the ORU leftfielder almost misplayed scored Eric Harbutz from 3rd. Eric had reached on an error. Unfortunately, Cody Bobbit after being ahead in the count grounded into an inning ending 1-6-3 doubleplay.

For now the radio broadcast has been knocked off the air.

Eric Harbutz with a 2-out, 2-rbi single in the top of the 6th have taken their 1st lead of the year at 3-2. Harbutz picks up Garrett Bayliff who struck out on 3 pitches with one out.

Minnis gives up the tying run in the 6th leaving the bases loaded getting the 9-hole hitter on a bouncer back to Minnis have he had fallen behind 3-0 in the count.

          3-3 after 6.

The pitching staff blew a lead? I can't believe it...

ORU scores in the 7th to retake the lead at 4-3. Could have been worse. The sac fly ORU got to score the run was almost a 3-run dinger and then Mikel Mucha had to lay out on the warning track in left to haul in out #3 to save a run.

Casey Gillaspie ties it with a RBI double scoring Tanner Dearman from 1st in the top of the 8th. Casey is on 2nd with no outs. Casey now has a triple and double in the game.

Thanks for the updates. Can't get radio in the bowels of this office building and Hubris doesn't work here either.

Coy advances Gillaspies to 3rd with a grounder to the right side and an infield chooper by Bayliifee pushes Gillaspie across for the go ahead run. Shocks lead 5-4 heading into the bottom of the 8th.

Who will close? Who can close? T.J. McGreevey will get a shot at it.

T.J. stikes out he 1st two hitters in the 9th. He then gave up a 2-out single on an 0-2 count. We must lead the nation base hits allowed on 0-2 counts.

Another single puts the tying run in scoring positon with 2-outs.

Brandon Peterson will come on in relief to try and get the final out.

Wild pitch by Peterson moves both the tying and winning run into scoring position.

Peterson comes back to get the strike out to end the game.

Shocks get their 1st win of the season.
