This was really a "lose lose" situation for me.

      • Virginia moves on to Omaha with a 10-4 win over K-State.

        • 3 ACC teams have punched their ticket to Omaha. Florida State, Virginia and North Carolina.

NC State, Florida, Texas A&M & Kentucky all have the chance to sweep and join them today.

Tennessee will battle Evansville for the last spot.

Probably too much to ask for 5 ACC teams, a Valley team, and 2 teams from Oregon, one of whom is now in the B1G and the other independent?

          • If the SEC is shut out of Omaha you know there will be major rule changes in the off season to assure that doesnt happen again.

In the last 22 seasons, 10 Nattys and 11 second place trophies in Omaha for the SEC. As much as I, or anyone, hope for zero SEC teams, it's just not happening. The teams are too good.

And, FYI, as it stands right this minute, the SEC would have to go on an 8 game bender to make that happen, including Florida blowing a 2 run lead in the 8th vs Clemson.

Florida blow this one and one tomorrow.

              UT lose to Evansville

A&M drop 2 in a row to Oregon

              Kentucky same vs Oregon State

              Georgia lose to NC State

              • Florida advances, as does Tennessee. The Florida game was excellent.

Oregon went completely brain dead in the 7th.

Leading 8-4, the Ducks gave up a walk and single, then a strikeout before another walk loaded the bases.

Another walk scored 1 (nobody warming up by the way) but another K and it's 2 outs. Still led 8-5.

Another walk, a HBP and ANOTHER walk before they finally went to the pen tied at 8.

Yet ANOTHER walk followed by a granny and it's all over but the shouting. 15-9 bottom 8.

Oregon State is being no hit in the bottom of the 6th...but they're tied at 2.

Was watching this. I admittedly don't know the teams, but I have no idea how this happens in game 2 of a super regional. This wasn't game 5 of a regional weekend when you are simply out of pitching. Just criminal mismanagement by that coaching staff.

                  • The CWS field is represented by just 2 conferences.

                    Yuck. Boring.

And if you switched Tennessee and NC State, each 4 team bracket would comprised of all conference mates. That’s incredibly boring.

                        • Garrett Pennington and Nate Snead make the CWS.

                          And hardly bit players.

GP hit .348 (2nd on the team) OPS 1.098 (2nd) 70 runs scored (1st) 26 doubles (1st) 18 home runs (3rd) 65 RBI (2nd). Only the insane year from ECU transfer Alec Makarewicz (and it's only slightly better than Garrett's) prevents Garrett from being NC State's best player. but he's in any discussion.

Nate Snead led the Vols in ERA, wins, saves, and was 2nd in appearances and 3rd in innings pitched. Again, probably not their best player, but he's in the discussion of being the best player on the #1 team in the nation that isn't done playing yet.

The 2 two Mikes could really recruit.

Garrett had a 2 run homer tonight to get the Pack even in the 3rd and it was a freaking monster blast to center. Had to be 450+.

                          • The power that Tennessee exhibits is a bit unnatural in my opinion.

They might have a player or 2 on the clear.
