He went 5.1 innings against the Shockers in the April 28 in the middele game of the Tulane series. He gave up 6 earned runs on 8 hits and 2 walks and 2 hit batters in a 6-3 loss to the Shockers. The big difference in that game is he was facing a fully rested Caden Favors.

I was just looking at that. Yup. 6 runs unlikely to be enough today.

Kind of surprised they are going with Welch. He's a righty and the Shox roughed him up a bit.

He does appear to be the ace of their staff on full rest. I woud be surprised if they didn't go with him.

I think the righty/lefty deal is part of it. But perhaps as much or more is Derek has been slumping at the plate and Livingston has gotten hot. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Derek get an at bat or 2 in the game if the opportunity presents itself.
