Live stats not working or not being attended to.

That home run by Derek Williams to give the Shock the lead went about 750 feet. 200 feet up 350 feet north and 200 feet down as it scraped the paint off the back of the fence in left. I think Denning Gerig, based on the way he called the play, was totallly surprised that ball got out of the park.

Zang gets the first two guys in the 7th before giving up a walk, Not sure what his pitch count was at that point but he has gone deep in the count quite a bit today So they opt to bring Caleb Anderson in to try to finish this off. Caleb gets a strike out to end the inning.

The Zang man certainly made the pitches when he needed to.

Another run or two would certainly be nice for the Shocks.

Update: Denning said he had Zang at 112 pitches so it was time.

            Encouraging pitching so far.

Not a real great weekend at the plate thus far.

            Just win, baby.

Williams with his 2nd home run on the day gives the Shox some breathing room at 4-1

Except for Cam Johnson and Derek Williams.

Looks like for now the Shocks are looking to Nate Adler as their closer. I think I saw Nate in the bullpen at the end of U-Tech's at bat in the 8th.

That one was a no doubter that landed in the middle of 21st street. This guys definitely has some power.

Nate goes uno, dos, tres in the 9th and the Shocks have another win.

Not lighting the world on fire, but also not really playing with fire either.

Anyway you slice it, that's a win streak.

Granted it is Utah Tech but that is 18 innings of quality work by the Shocker pitchers and just enough offense to do the trick. Cam Johnson off to an amazing start in his freshman year. Hitting beautifully and very solid in the field as well.

Hoping for Tommy LaPour to get on track tomorrow as well. But if he doesn't the bullpen is fresh.

Pitching has overachieved thus far. Way better than expected. Bats started off hot but have cooled fast.

We need to break out of the funk and put double-digits on the board tomorrow.

Well yes pitching has been super solid. But it's the third starting pitcher we've gotta get dialed in, so tomorrow's pitching is going to tell us a lot maybe?
