Foster was decent most of the year, but his last couple of outings have just been batting practice. Not sure what's going on with him.

Shane thinks it's a matter of maybe being worn down.

The problem is that at this point he might as well be injured he has been so bad lately.

Shane's probably right because Foster and Cale have been overworked, but why in the heck do you take out TJ anyway???????

What I want to know is why Gene made the great trade for MVC Pitcher of the Year Nick Petree and then didn't go with him today?

Well if you are going to roll the dice by plugging a largely ineffective Kevin Hall into the lead off spot maybe Gene should consider giving Mikel Mucha a shot there. He is 17 of his last 44 for a 0.386 average although that may be largely built against right handed pitching although I can't be sure about that.

It means WSU would have to win 4 in a row to get into the championship. In other words.....

What does this mean for the rest of the tourney?

We need to win 4 in a row to make the championship game. That would be 1 tomorrow and then 2 on Thursday and 1 on Friday. Probably Bradley tomorrow then if we win that we need a combination of 3 wins over SIU and MSU.

It means Gardner, Ladwig, Minnis, Mateychick and Mormann are going to have to step up for the Shocks. At this point it is hard to have confidence in Foster Vielock coming into a tight game.

Josh will go again on Saturday if the Shocks pull off a miracle and get there, although Josh was anything but sharp tonight.

at least WSU didn't get a 1 hitter thrown at them by the last place team in the league, still in the same boats though

I realize that is a tongue in cheek comment, but the consensus of opinion, even among the sunshine pumpers, was that we needed to 3-2 or better to be in good shape for an at-large. We need to go 2-2 in the tournament to stay on the bubble.

We obviously have used up all our chips. Need to win the next two at a minimum.
