My non-expert opinion…
I think too much emphasis has been put on exit velocity when it comes to hitting, and not “situational” hitting in recent years. Some (many) of our at-bats just seem odd, as if we are just simply trying to crush it.

Was just looking at the pitch counts and how many pitches each hitter is seeing. Is KU's pitcher throwing a lot of strikes or are our hitters just not very patient?

Bye has thrown 79 pitches in 4.0 innings. KU's guy has 60 in 4.2 innings.
