Candiotti Ks the 1st batter and the plate ump tells the Utah Tech dugout he's heard enough (lol join the club guys).

Pop fly 2 outs. Candiotti gets behind a batter for the first time in awhile and then gives up a 2 out single. If he works ahead, he's going to be very tough to hit.

Candiotti really keeping UT off balance. Ks the last guy (after doing a good job at holding the running at 1st).

1-1 top 5. Clark has done his job and the hitters need to get going.

Sawyre just robbed on a great play in LF by Hurdsman (who has killed us so far).

Brock walks on 5 pitches and we have our first threat. 2 on 1 out. Mound visit and UT has their bullpen heating up.

Double steal is on and Herring is picked off. Run down and now 2 down and Rodden at 2nd.

Rogers lines out to LF and we're going to HAVE to find a LF that can hit. Ingram and Rogers no bueno so far. Might be time to try Stark (probably past time) or the talented freshman Gustafson. Jordan and Chuck are combined .080 with 2 hits in 25ABs, 2 BBs and 14 Ks.

Candiotti gets a groundout to start the 5th then loses his first batter of the game on a 3-2 pitch and their leadoff guy promptly fists one just over the bag for a double. Kind of surprised the runner didn't score but it's still 2nd and 3rd 1 out and we're in trouble with Hurdsman and the big boys behind him. Need to hold them to 1 run here. Hopefully. Pelf to visit with Candiotti.

Pennington singles to lead off the 6th. Tolle is fooled 0-0 (grrrr) and there is one out. Millan singles on a hit and run (gutsy) and Pennington hustles right in front of Hurdsman and we've got something going again 1st and 3rd with just 1 out.

Actually, I think I would have liked to see Cooper Harris bat then let Stark take the field.

Stroh grounds into a force out where we're called for interference and it's a double play and inning over.

We literally cannot do anything right at this point, which was exactly my fear, mentally.


And no luck....the slide was NOT dirty at all and certainly wasn't late. Maybe he was a shade wide? (NOTHING like you see all the time at the MLB level) But there was never going to be a play at 1st. Stroh was already on the bag and Pennington was in.

That's a bad ****ing call that takes away a run.
