Unfortunately, the weather forecast, which was calling for sunny days with highs in the 40s and 50s before the team departed Wichita, has taken a nasty turn. Snow and rain are forecast now for every day in St George, UT. Sounds like a possibility we might get in fewer than 4 games, if any at all.

Playing baseball in Utah in February generally isn’t a good idea.

Utah Tech threw 16 different pitchers in their 4-game series this past weekend against Portland.

Assuming some position players with club or high school experience took the mound? Do college teams carry 16 pitchers?

We have 18 on our current roster (one two way player in Tolle and then 3 others are currently on the shelf in one capacity or another). If they threw 16 I would speculate that 1 or more is a 2 way player which isn't unusual at the college level. Not at least today it isn't.

I am a little surprised they have 16 healthy, even early in the year.

Rodden, McDonald, Pennington, Tolle, Millan, Herring, Stroh, Ingram, Thornhill. Bye on the mound.

                        Thats a good looking lineup.

And not much better playing in Wichita.

43 in St. George right now vs 39 in Wichita with comparable winds.
