Long time no see. :)

The Hogs are still trying to work their way back into a host spot. Maybe if things work out for both our teams you guys could come down to Fayetteville.

I could go for that. It has been a long time no see. Trips to Fayetteville are easy and fun plus it would mean we are in a regional again.

Haven't clicked the link, but isn't that the Mark Etheridge site? His projections are usually pretty close to what the committee ends up going with. He's also twice as smart and a hundred times more likeable than Kendall Rogers ever was.

Mark is a good guy and has a great record with his projections.

Those first projections that SB posted were obviously dated. Ill St did have a RPI in the high 50s at that point which usually puts a northern team in the bubble picture so it is reasonable for him to have them in his first 10 out. Oklahoma also was in the 50s at that time, so having them as one of the last five in wasn't unreasonable either.

Why not us as one of the last five in right now?

When you look at the resumes of all of the other teams in the low 50s as you are trying to decide the last few teams in, we look pretty favorable. Our record against the top 25 is 2-2, the top 50 is 5-5, the top 100 is 16-14, our SOS is 47. Those numbers are better than most of the other teams with RPIs in the low 50s.

If we can go 8-3 (Boyd Nation's current need assessment to finish 45 or better- warren nolan says WSU can have 4 losses to finish at 46) rest of the way we should have a real chance to get an large bid. It definitely is tough but it is not impossible.

Why not us as one of the last five in right now?

I don't dispute that we still have a flicker of hope for an at-large. But if the tournament field were announced tomorrow, I'm quite confident a 6-6 record in the MVC would kill our chances.

This weekend can change my mind (along with many others). We'll see which Shox team shows up.

BA has WSU as bubble-In with ISUB and ISUR as Bubble-out with SWMO getting league auto (which is probably another key - WSU will not be able to afford some mVC upstart to take the MVC auto)

Thanks for the link. And I totally agree with you. If an upstart were to steal the auto bid that would probably screw us.
