Entertaining game. Good weather. Shocks basically won it twice. Once in the 8th when Harbutz bullet found the OSU 3rd basemen's glove via the OSU pitcher's rear end and then again in the 11th.

I thought we had some very competitive AB's at times tonight and some not so competitive AB's at other times. Need to develop more consistency with the competitive AB's. OTOH, the pitching was not bad. All the OSU guys had good arms and good stuff. The last two guys were the top two OSU arms in their bullpen.

Shocks played a very clean and solid game defensively. Vielock's 3rd to 1st pick-off move in the OSU 8th was a huge play or the Shocks probably don't get to extra innings.

Kris Gardner will probably by starting a game this weekend. Mateychick did not look bad but both he and Vielock ran into trouble when they fell behind in the count. Elam was nails.

A little bit like playing a game in a house of mirrors I guess. Neither team will remind of the 1927 Yankees.

I hope Mikel Mucha get's more PT. He made a bad decision in left on an attempt to make a diving catch but it came with two outs and proved to be of no consequence but this kid can flat run and he was in the middle of the Shock's scoring both runs.

Mucha has a lot of speed. I don't blame him for trying to make a diving catch, as I recall our pitcher had a no hitter going, so in that instance I don't have a problem with an outfielder trying to save the no hitter for a pitcher.

I couldn't tell where that was coming from. I thought it was coming from the Okie St. bench but I am not sure. Wherever it was coming from, it sure was annoying.

That was an unbelievably unlucky play. How often do you see something like that.

I thought Kris Gardner pitched great tonight. Actually all of our pitching was good tonight. Granted Okie State is not very good offensively but they did come in averaging over 4.5 runs per game and we held them to 1 run in 11 innings.

One of the most disappointing things about the team this season for me has been the inconsistency of the pitching staff. They go from great game to bad game in an instant. I have been very concerned about Elam's effectiveness, and I thought he was in a real groove tonight. I hope the alleged "arm slot" problem has been solved.

Beautiful night for baseball, and two free innings were a bonus.

It was a beautiful night for baseball. Nice win. I always enjoy beating the Cowboys. Some of my best memories of Shocker games came against them.

One I downloaded on my computer from you tube. It is the Clinton McKeever grand slam from the 2008 Regional Championship. I watch it regularly.

Another very good memory was beating the 1988 Okie State team on their home field to go to Omaha. That Cowboy team was ranked #1 (pretty much all season long) and they were probably one of the best college baseball teams of all time.

There are plenty more but those are probably my two favorites.

After the game a Shocker fan up in the upper deck general admission seats was making the same sound mocking the Okie State fan or player. It put a smile on my face.

I have never seen so much ineptness that resulted in a win. Oklahoma State truly is a bad baseball team.

Tonight was my first game of the year. May squeeze a game out this weekend. That's about all I can muster.

It was pointed out to me last night that the Shockers started 5 Freshman. Also two sophomores, two juniors and 1 senior boy thats young
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

I had a good time last night weather great, pitching great, fielding great, hitting well, 3 hit in the 11th so the eleventh was great

What is also interesting this year is that while WSU is very young, most of the other Valley teams are just the opposite- they are starting lots of seniors and juniors.

First game of the season for me. It was a beautiful night and got to see some old friends. I thought we screwed the pooch when GS sent the runner home and was thrown out at the plate. If he holds him its men on first and third and one out. As it turned out we got one man on first with two outs. Hope the guy in the wheel chair that took a foul ball in the noggin is ok. Kind of disappointing in the turn out for these two teams but I guess it just shows how far both have fallen.

Man Elam was very good last night. Paul S. pointed out in his Wichita Eagle blog Shockwaves that Elam threw 30 pitches, 23 were strikes.
