  • Shox vs. Cowboys

Since this thread went unused as a game thread due to the first game being rained out, I thought we could save thread space (should please the thread police) and use it for this Tuesday night's game.

The Shox play the Oklahoma St. Cowboys Tuesday night at 6:30pm in Wichita. The game is on TV, COX 22.

This is a traditional rival but should be a very winnable game this year. OSU is currently 17-16 with a rpi of 139. WSU is 22-17 with a rpi of 76.

I assume Kris Gardner or Tobin Mateychick will start for the Shox.

    From the original post:

Although it is never easy to win in Stillwater, this should be a very winnable game. Oklahoma St is just 13-14 with a rpi of 175. (The Shox are 17-14 with a rpi of 90)

Kris Gardner will be starting for the Shox.

Two once proud and storied programs, now just weeds in the field, playing for tiddlywinks.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

Mid week games no longer matter. Shocker baseball is all about winning the valley tourney and claiming a four seed in some Midwestern regional.

Everything seems kind of topsy turvy right now. Usually the mid week games are the ones where we have a chance to get a good rpi win. Now it is the other way around. Illinois St has a rpi of 42. So it is now the weekend games that can get us the good rpi wins. Right now we need wins, period. Hopefully we will get one Tuesday night against a very beatable OSU team.

OK State's 10 of 14 wins have come against programs who have RPI's over 200 or who were non D1. Not impressive at all. You know what that means however don't you?

They want a new coach too?

Yes, some guy out of the bullpen that has an ERA of 22.15 will throw a nine inning perfect game.

And just how much will WSU have to pay them to take him?

                            I'll contribute to that fund.

The Okie State game has been cancelled due to rain. May be re-scheduled but nothing yet set on that.

WICHITA, Kan. ? The baseball game between Wichita State and Oklahoma State scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight in Stillwater, Okla., has been canceled due to rain.
