Never expected the Shocks to score 2 touchdowns and a field goal against the Sooners. But they have done it. 17-0 after 6. This really is unexplainable.
Perhaps a team (OU) that came in totally unconcerned about an opponent and a team, that after a horrible first half + of the season seems to be finding their groove a little bit and are feeling much better about themselves.Last edited by 1972Shocker; May 16, 2022, 09:31 PM.

Shockers Rout Oklahoma in Home Finale
The win represents the largest margin of victory in the history of the series, as well as the most runs the Shockers have ever scored against the Sooners.
Offensively, the Shockers (20-32) set a new season high in hits for the second time in three games, including a new season-best five home runs.
Thornhill finished the game with five hits, a new career high, three runs scored and four RBI. Tolle notched four hits and four RBI, while Rodden and Chuck Ingram each had a pair of hits. Rodden also drew three walks. Jordan Rogers was 2-3 plus a walk, hit by pitch and a sacrifice fly and 3 RBI. Rogers sac fly just missed being a 3 run homer and his was "unproductive" at bat was a line drive with the bases loaded in the 9th caught by the OU 3rd baseman on a diving catch to his left.
Rodden, Thornhill, Rogers and Tolle combined to drive in 14 of the Shocker's 18 runs.

That was totally unexpected last night which was good. Everything went the right way for the Shocks instead of having some "OH crap" moments. The Grain Gang was decked out in matching sleeveless shirts last night and they do add a lot to the game. Weather was perfect and the fans (Shocker) went home happy. JJ looked at me and said "This is fun and this is what next year will be"...certainly hope so. Go Shocks. For those of you that weren't there OU has some arms. Most of those pitchers were throwing mid 90's
