Interesting that Caden Favors started this game and then was replaced after 3 shutout innings in which he gave up 3 hits while striking out 4 and walking none. Jace came in to start the 4th inning and struck out the side. Jace ended up going 5.1 innings giving up 3 hits while while striking out 7 and walking 3. After Jace walked the second batter he faced in the 9th Cameron Holden came in to get the final 2 outs.

It wasn't like the Shockers offense was on fire. Both teams each had 6 hits. But the Shockers bunched half of their hits in the 1st inning to score both of their runs. With 1 out Brock Rodden reached on a infield single and the scored on a Sawyre Thornhill triple. Jordan Rogers followed with a double to left center to score Thornhill. And Caden, Jace and Cameron made that hold up.

Nice win but the Shockers pitching normally hasn't made an early 2-0 lead standup without additional offense. Only 3 hits over their final 7 at bats is not all that encouraging for the offense although the Shocker pitching gets a thumbs up. But not sure we can count on that kind of pitching as a rule of thumb, especially this year.

It was a quick game. 2 hours and 23 minutes. Maybe the shortest game of the season.

Tulane pitcher Cardouche worked exceptionally fast. All 3 WSU pitchers had good stuff tonight.

I won’t be surprised at all if they try that trick tomorrow as well.

That felt good on Senior day.

Tulane, as they are want to do, was running their mouths early in the game. They're such an arrogant bunch, probably get it from their fans. They were heckling and doing their softball cheers like the bunch of assholes that they are.

The 1st base ump had enough and told them to tone it done, which set off their coach at 3rd. Then they guys started teeing off on their pitching and it was on with the crowd who started giving it right back to them.

But they went over the line when their coach complained to security and tried to get one of the best fans, and nicest guy you'll ever meet, tossed. They claimed he was giving the Tulane bench the finger (in fact he was pointing to where their bus was located). Security came down with campus police to run the guy but cooler and smarter heads prevailed and he stayed.


Too many bad things can't happen to that bunch. 30-0 no hit them tomorrow isn't enough. F Tulane.


Several little league teams were having a blast, the guys behind the plate were awesome AGAIN (hats off to whomever you guys are) and made the game feel like an event for the first time in a very long time.

Senior Day, ass beating, tape measure home runs, fans engaged and having fun........Shocks win. Good times.
