I bet the coach is thinking he probably should have kept their real closer in

In KC's defense I wasn't feeling very optimistic at all when Josh left the game trailing 5-1 and I was even less optimistic with the Shocks going into the bottom of the 9th trailing 7-2. Also according Mike Kennedy's post game comments apparently quite a few fans left prior to the Shocks great rally in the 9th, although Mike said he couldn't really blame them.

        Even Don Lambert said:
“Two weeks ago, that game ends 7-2,” Lambert said. “We’ve come so far. That’s the first game that I can honestly say that the pitchers have gotten some support from us.”

Great rally, Shocks. Way to keep fighting to the end. One of the biggest things that makes baseball great is that it isn't over until it's over. You can only run out of outs but you can't run out of time (assuming good weather). Yogi was so right when he said "it ain't over, until it's over".

So I'll give @KCShox some slack on Friday's game, plus he apparently read the 7-5 score he saw online as a final. However, assuming an LBS sweep even if we had lost the 1st game of the series is a little over-the-top with the negativity. A true fan(atic) always holds out at least some hope regardless of the matchup.

I did like the Dewey Defeats Truman reference by @WSUwatcher: though.

It did seem like a lot of people left early, but there were still a lot of people there who stayed to witness the big comeback. I am sure many of those who left in the top of the ninth are wishing that they had just stayed a little bit longer.

I love your updates and reports 72', but please never, ever, ever, utter the words "give slack" and KC Shox in the same sentence.

In other Valley action last night, MoST beat Cu (3-0). While I like seeing Cu lose, I don't think we want MoST to sweep them. I would hate to see MoST start Valley play with a 3-0 record. Although it wouldn't bother me to see Cu start out 0-3.

Indy St also won last night against Ue to keep their long winning streak alive and to improve to 18-4 overall.

MoST beat Cu 7-0 today. In two games Cu is yet to even score against the Bears. I am rooting for Cu today. I don't think I want MoST to start off conference play with a sweep of last years conference champs.

Neither are my favorites but if Iran was playing the sCUm I would have to pull for Iran.

If the Mexican drug lords were playing the sCUm I would have to root for the druggies.

If an all star team led by Charles Manson, Jeffery Dahmer and Jerry Sandusky were playing the sCUm, again I would have to root for the convicted killers and child abuser.

If KU was playing the sCUm the only good thing to come from that game would be an al-Qaida attack.

That is pretty funny. I am going to hold my nose while I root for Cu today.

BTW- MoST was able to draw a whole 300+ people to the big game between Cu-MoST on Friday night and a whole 600+ on Saturday. I am sure glad the Valley is holding the post season tournament there. I wouldn't worry about being able to find a seat.

I can't remember exactly when Hammons has built. But it has to be close to 10 years now. The SWOMO fans at the time said watch out they are the new powers in the Valley. And 10 years later they draw a whole 300 for a Friday night came against one of the conference favorites and last season's champs.

Looks like SWOMO may have to sell another cow to pay for the rent.

It opened for play in 2004. I heard they were giving away free pizza on Saturday to try and get people to come :yahoo:

2004. I was pretty close. I guess the people in Springfield must be a little slow to find new things. Oh wait, the Springfield Cardinals play in the same facility and draw big crowds. I guess they just don't care much for da Bears.

The class of the Valley, sCUm lose again today to start 0-3 in league play. They did finally score, lost 5-3 I think.

Wow that is incredible. While I don't like MoST getting 3 wins to start the Valley season I do love seeing Cu start out 0-3. Cu scored a whole 3 runs the entire weekend. I also noticed that both the Friday and Saturday starters for MoST went the entire game. So MoST had all of their relievers available for today.
