[QUOTE=SB Shock;315140]well, if you don't win the 1st game you have no chance to sweep.

Thats almost as good as "If your parents didn't have kids then you can't have kids."

I was very impressed with their second baseman Jeff McNeil. He reminded me of a taller, faster Kevin Hooper. He made some unbelievable plays. He also got a couple of hits, scored a run and got an RBI. But other than him nobody else really stood out to me.

I was thinking about that when Juan Avila took a hit by a pitch in the top of the ninth, stole second and then came home and scored when the throw to third went wild when he tried stealing it. Long Beach managed to score a run without getting a hit or even putting the ball in play. When the score was sitting at 7-6 in the bottom of the ninth, I was thinking about how big that series of dirtbag plays was in the top of the ninth.

Aaron Rea and Josh Halbert conbined to go 4-9 with 3 rbi and 2 runs scored. Makes the bench look pretty deep. Picking up for the guys that are hurt.

I was impressed with the way both of them competed at the plate. They both had good nights.

Don Lambert and Dayne Parker also had big nights at the plate.

The pitcher that the Shockers scored 6 runs against in the bottom of the ninth had a era of 1.04. After last night (2/3 of one inning), I am sure it will get worse.

Checking the box score the bull pen did an O K job with it being the back end of the pen doing it. Saves Foster and/or Cale for today or Sunday. Aaron just didn't finish the game but pitched O K. Tobin kind of shaky but he got the WIN.

Shockers score 8 runs with their 4-5 guys going 0 for 8 and 1 rbi. 6-7-8-9-1-2 3 all hit. Some really well. Some just clutch. Clutch like Taylor Doggett 1-5 and 2 rbi his hit came in the 9th. Really well like Dayne Parker 4-5 1 rbi and 2 runs scored. Here's hoping Johnny and Casey have big days Saturday and Sunday.

Well to be frank it was not a good offensive performance through 8 innings. Wsu did not execute and struck out a lot with RISP. It was only until the 9th when LBS committed 3 errors and gave up a couple walks. Credit the shocker hitters for never giving up though and coming through in the clutch. Hopefully this will give them confidence from here on out.

WSU chances of sweeping before tonight game: 33%
WSU chances of sweeping after tonight game: 48%
with the updated ISRs this morning.

WSU chances of sweeping after tonight game: 50%
WSU chances of taking 2 of 3 from LBS: 91%

with the (possible) injury to one of LBS starters - the chances might even be greater if he can't pitch on Sunday. One of LBS weaknesses is lack of depth in their bullpen.

This information is why this is such a geat board as well as people like you that enjoy throwing tid bits out. Thanks
