Ugh. Jace not fooling anyone. He's either missing down, or offering fat balls center cut up that KU has hammered. Not sure he's going to make it out of the 1st.

He does but KU gets a walk, fell asleep covering 2nd that cost a double play, wild pitch, ground out poorly played by Kocis that cost a run, then a single, 2 run homer, single and ground out to end it.

3-0 after 1 and the first 3 batters for us were not competitive at all. Obviously a poor start to an important road trip.

Criminally poor top of the 3rd for WSU. After Stroh blisters a lead off double, Stewart doesn't hit the ball hard or move Stroh over then Stroh gets thrown out trying to go to 3rd unnecessarily.

Fortunately Thornhill makes it mostly moot doubling in Rodden and getting the run home, just in a different order. Ingram strikes out again and looks like freshman CI in his first 2 at bats that lasted a combined 85 seconds. 3-1 bottom 3.

Blue is struggling to find a consistent zone.

Miner is settling in more and more. He has the stuff, think he just needs a boost in confidence to take off.

A 6 pitch walk to lead off the bottom of the 5th (seemed to be getting squeezed a bit to me but idk it's cold!) and Miner is done after 70 pitches and LJ is on.

Rough first inning, but if he gets help from the D he maybe gets out of it with no damage. Not a bad outing at all for Jace. Plenty to build on IMHO.

LJ immediately gives up a single and it's 1st and 3rd with nobody out and we're in a heap of trouble just trying to keep this thing close.

Without going back, feels like we have been pretty miserable in cold weather this year.
