FIU is 6-8 with mixed results. Swept at home by a decent Indiana State team, but split 4 with a good solid Coastal Carolina squad.

This team needs momentum and confidence right now, no better way than to stack some wins on the road.

It would appear Eddy tonight, then give Spencer Hynes another shot tomorrow against Stetson and then the freshman Hansell against FIU on Sunday.

Snavely should be well rested (maybe too well rested) after the grounds crew debacle in Tucson.

Preston now through 3 scoreless innings facng only 1 over the minimum. 5 of the 9 outs on grounders plus 2 strikeouts. Only 33 pitches so far. Implies Preston is throwing strikes and keeping the ball down which I think is key for him.

Shocks scratch out a run in the bottom of the 3rd. A 1 out infield single by VanVooren who stole second and scored on a single to left by Sigrist. Shocks lead 1-0 after 3 complete.

Preston Snavely was actually pretty good in this one going 6.2. He was charged with all 3 FIU runs 2 of which score on back-to-back singles after Tommy Barnhouse come on in relief of Preston with 2 outs in the 7th. This team just does not do a good job in picking each other up. Hopefully, the offense will come to life late.

The FIU starting has been just a little better so far.
