Stanford was in the Top 10? Did half their roster leave school or something?

        Scholars Bowl conflict

One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

Another solid if unspectacular day for the American.

UCF shuts out Butler 4-0 on 3 hits.

Uconn continues it's 24 game season opening road trip by blowing out Presbyterian College in a double dip today 20-1 and 7-1. The Huskies improve to 6-5. They play 13 more games away from home before their 1st home game against Seton Hall on March 29. They don't play their 3rd home game (and 1st series at home) until April 9 against UCF. Road warriors indeed.

Cincinnati took 2 from Eastern Michigan 8-1 & 13-6 at Marge Schott Stadium.

Tulane 3 hit Southern today winning 7-0. The Green Wave are going to be a handful. 12-2.

East Carolina continued to make Scooter Hibbs mad by hammering Charlotte again, this time 15-5.

Memphis got another road win at UNCW, this time 6-1.

Houston evened their series at #25 Arizona 3-1. The Cougars are getting good pitching from Clay Aguilar. He's not dominant, but he's been very effective so far as their Saturday guy.

The league's only loss today was USF at #1 Florida where the Gators won again 15-5.

Pfft! Check out the Lady Shocks softball team schedule. 31 games away form Wilkins Stadium before they play their home opener against UCF to open AAC play.

Every team we have played except Hofstra won their weekend series.

Hofstra dropped all 3 by scores of 11-12, 13-14, 10-11. That had to be an infuriating weekend.

The brooms were mostly out on getaway day in the American.

Down 3-1 UCONN rallied for 3 in the 9th to complete the sweep of Presbyterian 4-3.

ECU beat Charlotte 4-1 and swept Scooter's former team.

Cincy swept Eastern Michigan by winning today 14-2.

Florida won for the 3rd time this weekend at home vs USF. The #1 Gators are 15-0. They haven't left the state.

UCF beats Butler 4-1 and sweeps the Bulldogs.

Tulane beats Southern again, this time 10-2 and another sweep.

And of course your Shockers walk it off and sweep La Tech, winning today 10-9.

Houston dropped the rubber game at Arizona 10-6.

Memphis dropped the final game of the series at Wilmington 4-3.

Fairly busy Tuesday in the American with 6 teams in action.

Houston shut down UNLV in Vegas 3-1.

Tulane won a slugfest with Lamar 14-12. Tulane is legit.

USF beat Pitt 12-8 in Tampa.

East Carolina beat a solid Elon team 7-4. The Pirates play a really strong schedule with few if any patsies.

UCONN almost played a home game, beating Hartford in Hartford 4-2.

Memphis made the 3 1/2 trip to Murfreesboro only to get spanked by Middle Tennessee State 6-1.
