Lose today and the team's plane would arrive back here when? One hour after that should be the answer.

The damage that would be created by another lame duck losing year would be far more expensive than the one-year buyout.Last edited by ShockerFever; May 24, 2019, 11:27 AM.Deuces Valley.

I can't imagine that if you look at the big picture (A.D.'s job duty), that the nature of the existing contract in dollars could impact your decision. Under Gene, the baseball program was wholly self-sufficient. Revenue generated by ticket sales, concessions, contributions, sponsorship exceeded expenses. National contending teams drew significant support and resources. Stagnation over the past 6 years (go back to 2010 if you have to...) has led to a marked drop in all of the resources, but expenses remain high. New revenue is the only solution, the resources have dwindled, and a building construction project is under way. It's pretty self explanatory.
Also, didn't the Shockers fire Gene after an NCAA birth? Somewhat ironic that some rumblings have suggested that an NCAA birth could save Todd's job...
BTW, did anyone catch Gene on yesterday's broadcast? He clearly still has passion for this program...

Our athkletic department had to borrow $2.5 million to join the AAC. Travel expenses went through the roof, and we got no NCAA tourney money. EVERYTHING was put on hold until it was determined how that financial hit was going to work out.
The athletic department is in a better long-term financial situation than it was in the MVC, but it was sphincter-tightening in the short term.

It should be within 24 hours, but I realize Boatramp is a wilted flower and won’t say anything before the end of the month. I’m not sure why he wouldn’t wanna just put Butler out of his misery instead of letting him suffocate to death.Deuces Valley.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that Todd Butler is a genuine good guy. Sometimes ‘good guys’ fail. I’m sure he gave it all and did it his way...
“And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew (yep)
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way
I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing (yep)
And now, as tears subside
I find it all, all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh no, no, not me
I did it my way
For what is man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way
And did it my way”"You Just Want to Slap The #### Outta Some People"
