Props to the players for stepping up, but facilities are meaningless if you have a crappy coach that stays for too long burying the program into the ground, with tens of fans watching games led on by an AD that seemingly doesn’t care and at times is in over his head.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

    Impressive.
And with that, every last drop of good will built up over 40 years has been extracted from the program.

Would anyone be willing to venture a guess the public reaction if our beloved AD and his infinite wisdom decides to bring back Butler next season? Would there be no reaction because the apathy has become so prevalent that people would simply shrug their shoulders to the news and move on?

SHOCKERNET ATTACK FROM THE LEFTFIELD BLEACHERS!

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

The donations guarantee a Gene branch being the new coach, imo.

Hmmm... “Sharing this same optimism in Hellas is three-year Wichita State Baseball Coach Todd Butler.” :)

WstateU, I'm hoping there is more than one thing out of whack in this statement.

Uh, Butler thinks he’s gonna be coaching on that turf? LMFAO

Wish we could at least get back dirt basepaths.

I do have to say that at first I thought the brown “basepaths” with our current turf was odd, now that I’ve gotten used to it it looks fine. The red clay colored fake dirt looks way worse.

Happy fan to see genes legacy cemented in history with this new phase, new weight room, new lounge. recruit in more fully grown men with freaky Dorian Yates darn barn door backs look huge freaky and not some of these "make-a-wish" projects we been hoping for last five year

There are not really very many full grown men coming out of high school. Plus you are basically promoting the big guy recruiting approach employed by Todd Butler which he has been criticized for.

Gene certainly didn't limit himself with that kind of recruiting philosophy. If he had Shocker fans would have missed out on guys like Mark Standiford, PJ Forbes, Randy Young, Kevin Hooper, Blake Blasi and Jeff Ryan to name a few off the top of my head.

I want to see a good mix of speed, power and finesse together with a healthy dose of baseball IQ.

Gene did not recruit full grown men. He recruited youngsters and turned them in to mentally tough, mature young men who made the most of their natural talent.

WSU has been long known for the high quality of their strength and conditioning program. Phase V will make that easier but IMO won't be the difference maker.

Todd Butler was great at recruiting big strong youngsters with MLB bodies but not so great at molding them into winners at the collegiate level.

I am not that concerned about how the Shocks look in the airport. How they handle their business on the field of play will be my main focus as a fan

In all fairness Butler does have a HS recruit slotted for the 2020/2021 season who will be 20 years old by the time he steps foot on campus.

You right! We've seen a history of low baseball IQ last few years. its been a case of "Look like Tarzan, plays like Jane", unfortunately. What should matter is what they produce on the field, and not the recruiting class ranking, what is done during practice, or the bodies recruited in. WINNING. WINNING. WINNING!
