  • WSU vs. USF - AAC Tournament

Shocks grab a 1-0 lead in the 1st on a bases loaded walk by Cadena. 38 pitch inning for McClanahan.

Was that a max pitch count for Keller, or something else?

Killgore has an easy 3rd, putting USF down in order on 8 pitches. I think clean innings might be a good idea for Killgore.

Keller lasts 2 IP on 51 pitches, allowing an earned run. Keylan Killgore comes on in relief to start the 3rd and sends USF down in order.

      1-1 to the 4th.

Another scoreless inning for Killgore as the Bulls strand a village, 1-1 to the 5th. McClanahan is at 96 pitches through 4 innings - he's done a good job working out of trouble, but the Shocks have hung a lot of pitches on him so far. Hopefully this is his last inning and we can make it a battle of the bullpens.

USF loads the bases with 2 outs in the 4th, but fail to score.

Lots of baserunners in this one, not a lot of runs.

Escaped a potential disaster there. .349 hitter grounded to first for the 3rd out with the bases loaded.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Stunkel robs Cadena of a RBI double for the 3rd out in the 5th with a great diving catch. Still 1-1 to the bottom of the 5th, 110 pitches for McClanahan - we'll see if they try to squeeze one more out of him.

3-4-5 due up for USF, WSU would have to be thrilled if we can get one more scoreless inning out of Keylan.

Keylan sends the Bulls down in order, very nicely done.

If you'd told me before first pitch that a Keller/Killgore combo could match McClanahan through 5 IP, I'd have taken it happily. Good work by those young men.

                Let's get some runs Shockers!

Killgore with another 1-2-3 inning. 35 pitches. Try to go another inning, or have him available more later in the week?

Yea, tough call - we could try to get 50 pitches out of him and still have him available on short rest. 1 more and pull him at the first sign of trouble?

50ish seems like too many to be available tomorrow, at least in my mind. I think I'd go a new direction now that he's been through the lineup.

Noah Yager (2.97 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) relieves McClanahan to start the 6th.

Killgore stays on for the 6th

And another 1-2-3 inning. He's really dealing.

2 RBI double by Bohm, still nobody out.

                          3-1 WSU in the 7th
