    #20 Wichita State hosts UConn, 3 Game Series

    WSU enters 23-7 (3-3) with a RPI of 10, and UConn comes to town 17-10-1 (3-3) with a RPI of 21. Huge series for both teams as they seek firmer footing in the conference standings.

    Game times below:
    • Friday Doubleheader Starting at 3 PM
    • Sunday, 1 PM
    Per Weather.com, Friday is supposed to see a high of 81 but a low of 32 (!) with 31 MPH winds, guessing the front will be arriving in full force around the scheduled first pitch. Saturday features a high of 40 with a 20% chance of rain and 30 MPH winds, and Sunday is a high of 51 with 22 MPH winds.

    UConn averages 5.7 runs/game and allows 4.6 runs/game, whereas WSU is averaging 6.8 runs/game and allowing 4.3 runs/game. Hopefully we can get a nice bounce back effort from Codi to start the series on a high note.

      That's good to hear. I wouldn't want our guys to see that mascot in the dark. Talk about being traumatized for life!

    They just announced a DH starting tomorrow at 3 pm. No game on Saturday.

      A no brainer. Eliminates the possibility of WSU getting sued for frostbite injuries. 30 mph wins on Saturday isn't ideal but at least it will be warn and the wind will be blowing out Sunday wont't exactly be a pleasant spring day but beats the hell out of Saturday.

      I don't doubt the Huskies readiness with all that heavy fur and everything. Not sure about the Shocks after the way they laid down for Tulane last Friday.

      Friday will be fine. To paraphrase Bob Uecker. Just a little bit breezy.

      Sunday may largely depend on how much, if any, sunshine we get during the game. Cool and breezy but not artic weather.

                  Yep. And beyond things getting helped out of the ballpark, anything in the air that doesn't land over the fence is going to be an adventure for everyone. Definitely a day to run hard out of the box on usually routine pop-ups and fly balls.
