Shocks Host the UTA Mavericks for 3-Games

Not much to report, Connor stabs a line drive to end the 4th and perhaps save his own bacon. Still 1-0 Shocks, bottom 4.

2 on, nobody out. Butler lifts Gibson who is 1-1. Looks like a bunt. Hmmm.........

Debacker gets the job done and it's 2nd and 3rd with one out. Troutwine and Boyer need to do work here.

Troutwine lines a single right off the pitchers ear and 2 score (really close on Dugas, he could have been out) to make it 3-0 Shocks. Great move!

Connor almost worked around a leadoff triple....a ball that was hit about 1 foot before taking a perfect high bounce over first and landing maybe 6 inches fair and rolling into the right field corner. A strikeout and a near strikeout later turned into a sac fly and a 3-1 game going to the bottom of the 5th.

Lungwitz turns it over to Alex Segal in the 6th. Watch this kid pitch.

K, K, HPB, K. UTA had NO chance. Segal just looks fantastic.

This is why I don't understand a lot of baseball. Segal was laughably unhittable in the 6th. He threw 1 pitch, a curve ball to a lefty that he just started in too far and hit him. Otherwise UTA had no chance. He comes out in the 7th and literally cannot find the plate. All 3 walks score and it's 4-3 UTA. Time for a rally Shocks!

He had every reason to ***** there. Jenista looked at 2 borderline pitches, good pitches and he has to swing, but Bohm's 2nd was beyond that, and the K was a good foot outside and not close to a strike. Segal got squeezed a bit (his own worst enemy) then next inning the plate expands 18 inches. Not right. But yeah that was a serious meltdown.

Baseball is one crazy game. With the game on the line, normally there is nobody I have less confidence in than Dugas. Today he is 4-4 and is CARRYING this team offwnsively.
