Sorry, not buying the 4-0 start yet.
Me either. We started 8-0 last year and look what happened. If we were 4-0 against OK State and Rice, then you have me sold, that's not the case here.

Impressive offensive display again from some juggernaut Omaha pitching. 1 hit through 4.

3-0 Shox, T8, one out, runner on second, Eddy coming out. Sanburn on to try and preserve the shutout.

If he could just throw it over the plate

A+ effort from Liam today and Chandler will hopefully gain some confidence from slamming it shut for the save. One more to go - let's get the sweep.

Liam has certainly been the brightest light so far this year. Let's hope he can keep it up once the competition gets tougher. And Chandler did exactly what he needed to do in relief support..

Liam sure has been tough so far. Glad they let Chandler finish instead of the automatic Barnhouse. Hit the first weekend, pitched the second (so far).

In Game 2 Shocks finally break out the sticks to break a scorless tie in th 5th.

Jacob Katzfey lined a double down the RF line to lead off the inning
Ross Cadena lined out to CF
Jordan Boyer singled to LF to score Katzfey
                Boyer stole second
Alex Jackson singled to RC to score Boyer
Greyson Jensta homered off the scoreboard in left
Alec Bohm homered to RC which Shane Dennis described as a tracer
                Shocks 5 - Omaha 0

Omaha made it 5-1 with a run in the 7th on a single, double and ground out.

Shocks got that run back in he bottom of the 7th when Hunter Gibson homered to LF in what I believe was his first collegiate at bat. Shocks 6 - Omaha 1 after 7.

Shocks making it interesting in the 8th.

Cody Tyler (coming off of arm surgery) made is Shocker debut in relief of Alex Segal. Cody walked the lead off batter and wild pithed him to 2nd.

After getting a fly out to RC Cody gave up a single to left to put runners on 1st and 3rd and the Shocks brougnt in Preson Minor to take over on the mound.

Preston wild pitched the run home with the runner on 1st going to second. Shockers 6 - Omaha 2.

Preston then walked the one batter he faced to put runners at 1st and 2nd and that was all for him as Clayton McGinness came in still with only 1 out.

Clayton got a potential DP ground ball to Luke Ritter at 2nd but he and Boyer boxed the exchange and all runners were safe to laod the bases. Ritter charged with a throwing error.

Clayton then struck out the next two batters to escape without further damage. Shocks 6 - Omaha 2 headin into the bottom of the 8th.

Shocks go down in order in the bottom of the 8th.

Fr. Tyler Davis on for the Shocks to start the 9th.

Strike out, walk, single, fly ball to RF, strike out.

                    Final Score: Shockers 6 - Omaha 2

Shocks are 6-0 but anything less would have been a bit disappointing. It's good to win the games you should win.

It would appear that Fr. RHP Liam Eddy may be the real deal.
                      .
Alec Bohm not disappointing the MLB scouts so far.

Perhaps we will have a better feel for this team next week after Nebraska comes to town for a 3-game series. If the Shocks sweep the Huskers than perhaps we have some reason for optimism.

Good job finishing off the sweep this afternoon by the Shocks.

Overall, I'd give the pitching an A for the weekend (5 runs across 3 games is good no matter the competition) - hopefully they can build on this heading into a much tougher test next weekend. The hitting during the first two games was lackluster but provided just enough.

                        Excited to host the Cornhuskers.

Kudos to Clayton McGinness for not letting the error by his teammates which allowed the tying run to come to the plate with only 1 out in the 8th to rattle him. Two big strikeouts to extricate his team from a jam. Last year we probaby fall apart.

Hunter Gibson joins Alec Bohm as the only two Shockers to homer in their first at bat in their Shocker careers.
