    • Unfortunately it's raining in Omaha now and thunderstorms are forecast clear through tomorrow night. If one or both games are rainouts -- what then?

Pretty sure we'd be tied with CU in that scenario.

          • Wouldn't CU win based on winning %?

Which would mean Shox as 1 seed? Took 2 of 3 from BJs

                • I'll take one rain out and 1 MSU win.

I think not. You have to go by winning percentage.

                    WSU at 14-7 is .667
                    sCUm at 13-6 is .684

sCUm HAS to lose a game to MSU and not the weather. I have no doubt that the sCUm pukes will do everything in their power to end the season right now.

                    --'85.

                    • We need at least one MSU win. If they rainout and play no more games, I believe CU gets the title based on a slightly better winning pct. (.684 vs. .667).

If they only play one game and MSU wins it, then we win the title outright.

                      • I heard Kennedy say that this is the first time since 2001 that WSU has swept Bradley in Peoria and the first time ever since they moved to O'Brien field.

That is kind of surprising to hear since Bradley has usually been in or near last place during that time period.

That's correct. It's done raining in Omaha now and there appears to be a pretty big patch of dry weather for the immediate future.

At this point as it stands this second, they would be big ass pansies to not play tonight.

                          ... No really, deuces.

                          • Per the MVC Baseball handbook, to be eligible for the championship, you have to have played 16 conference games. As long as 2/3 of teams have played at least 16 conference games, then the champion is the team with the highest winning percentage in conference games.

Since all Valley teams have played 16 games, that would mean that sCUm is the champion if the two remaining games are rained out or they win one and the other is rained out. The rules state that they cannot make up the game on Sunday. Moving today's game to tomorrow would require approval of both coaches.

                            • Curious what the Bears are thinking.

CU will be well motivated to win and stay away from both WSU and MSU until (potentially) the finals.

Will MSU, who can only finish as high as 2nd (if they win twice), prefer the Shocks or CU?

                              • Fourth place is still within reach if they tank the next two. Given the difference between playing a 5 seed vs. playing a 7 seed in the first round, I would hope they will be sufficiently motivated.
