The Bluejays are ranked, have an RPI in the top 40, and play their next eight games at home before coming here.

It looks like the MVC may be a multi-bid league this year after all, assuming someone can knock them off in tournament play.

I am struggling to figure out why they are ranked.

Other than a very nice 7 game winning streak, including 2 valley road sweeps and a 1 run victory over Kansas State at home, what exactly have they done to justify a ranking?

I'm not questioning whether they are stronger than WSU, they most certainly are the better team right now, but I am not sure they deserve to be ranked and I have no idea where that 40 rpi comes from.

It's called fundamentals, otherwise known as winning baseball.

Their game tonight in Omaha against UNL is also on national TV. CBS Sports TV. And they are expecting a crowd of over 20,000 at the game.

I assume most of them will be wearing red though.

From the TV it looks like there isn't anywhere near 20,000 there tonight. It is a good size crowd. Especially considering it is very cold there tonight.

It also looks like there is a lot more red than blue in the crowd.

That may be true, but they haven't played, nor beat anybody special.

            ... No really, deuces.

UNL loads the bases with nobody out in the top of the sixth with an infield hit, CU's 3rd error of the game and a hit batsman.

CU gets out of it with just one run scoring. UNL leads 2-1 going to the bottom of the sixth.

CU loads the bases in the bottom of the 8th with their best hitter, Trevor Adams (the announcer called him arguably the best hitter in the Missouri Valley) coming to bat.

Trevor Adams strikes out. Game going to the 9th with UNL leading 2-1.

#28 Creighton loses at home tonight to unranked UNL 2-1. The Jays out hit the Huskers 6-5 but committed 3 errors.

The Huskers put in a freshmen reliever that ended up going nearly 6 innings and gave up no runs.

After the game, the TV announcers said the crowd of 22,197 was the ninth best crowd ever in ncaa history and about 10,000 more than the previous best crowd of this year anywhere in the country.

It will be interesting to see how well CU draws against SIU this weekend at their new home park.

They only have 4 wins that could even be considered good:
                              #46 Kstate, #66 Ku, 2 against #72 Illinois St.

                              Pretty weak.
