Expectations for our Baseball team!

It really needs multiple layers of answers. I expect us to make regionals at least every other year, Super regionals every 3 to 5 years and I still expect us to get to Omaha at least once every 7 to 10 years.
I know with all of the money that many of the BCS schools are pouring into baseball these days it is going to get harder and harder but I still think we can do it.

I'd say we should be 14 out of 15 years.

When you have the peppiest and most positive of fans only expecting regionals "at least every other year", then you really know how bad it has become.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

When our basketball team has only made a regional once since 1990, I just think it is a little unrealistic to expect our baseball team to make a regional every year.
I might have said 2 out of every 3 years or 4 out of every 5 years but they were not options.

For a program that made 26 regionals in a 30 year span or whatever, to now lower yourself to one "every other year" is just hilarious. Were those your expectations 5 years ago? What about 10 years ago? 20 years ago?
We're not talking about hosting a regional every year. We're not talking about Omaha every year. We're simply talking about making a regional every year.
Pretty sad that you don't expect WSU to be the Valley's best program every year. How the mighty have fallen indeed.Deuces Valley.

Our level of support in basketball exceeds the other Valley schools too. We pay our coach more and we are the only Valley school that takes Chartered jets to all of our games (except for the very close ones, which there aren't very many of).
My answer was "at least every other year" and I chose that because the only other option "was every year". And I thought that was just a little too unrealistic. As I said earlier, if there had been a nearly every year option like 4 out of 5 years or even 2 out 3 years I would have picked that one.
While we do pay our coaches more than the other Valley schools, our recruiting budget is definitely MO Valley level. Also three of the Valley schools play in better facilities than we do (Mo St, Bradley and now Creighton). They are rented facilities but they are top notch.
Having said that, we do commit more to baseball than any other Valley school (although most BCS schools that have any kind of commitment to baseball spend more than we do on baseball) and we should dominate this conference in baseball.
We should win the regular season Valley title every year. And while we should also win the conference tournament, they are a crap shoot so you never know what can happen. The 1989 national champions didn't even win the Valley tourney that year. But regular season titles should be ours pretty much every year.

Just for comparison's sake, I chose another top 25 team, Long Beach State, The Dirtbags:
Under Dave Snow from 1989 through 2001:
Made the CWS 4 times out of 13 years. This averages to about once every 3 years.
Made the Regionals 7 times out of 13. Counting above this means they got into or surpassed the Regionals 11 out of 13 years.
Under Mike Weatherly from 2002 through 2010:
Made the Super Regionals 2 times out of 9, or about once every 5 years.
Made Regionals 4 times out of 9, and counting above 6 times out of 9 years.
I did not count Troy Buckley in 2011 as it was only 1 year experience.
So, compared to the Dirtbags, are we underperforming?
