        Some hope once again...

Shox pull within 6-5, Grimes at 1st, 2 down, and Springer up.

Tap back to the pitcher ends it. Too bad we had to implode in the bottom of the 8th.

Wow, wait til it's too late, after we muffed it up in the 8th. That seems to be what Shocker baseball is about these days.

Being competitive won't get it done. An L is an L.

Better get the next 2 or it's status quo, par for the course.

Tulane holds on for a 6-5 win. Nice fight by the Shocks late against Tulane's best arms out of the bullpen.

Not sure our offense was the problem tonight. The bullpen has been and apparently still is our big achilles heel.

I guess we will show up tomorrow and see what happens.

So a team struggling through injuries goes on the road against a Top 25 team, fights all night, loses by 1, and everyone is jumping off the ship? Come on now.

Box score shows Shocks out hit Wave 9-6 but 1 big error cost 2 runs in a 6-5 loss. DRAG
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

I don't think the injuries make the difference in Flynn's pitching woes and the muff up error in the 8th.

Either way, it's not a good excuse and nobody will know why we lost or how we lost when it comes selection time. They'll just know that we lost.

This program has laid some big eggs in big games in the last several years.

Maybe they don't make a difference in those things. But it does matter. Maybe the team is ahead at the time and there is less pressure. Who knows. You are right, it's not a good excuse. But it is a relevant observation.

Those team did lay some eggs. Losing 6-5 on the road is not one of them. Hope the Shox can even things out tomorrow!

While I would prefer a win, being competitive against a top 25 team on the road is about all you can ask for.

I remain optimistic for the next two games. Hopefully Tulane used up all of their best pitchers today.

You guys simply don't get it. There are no freakin' moral victories to be had with this team. We are a member of a one bid conference, EVERY freakin' non-con game against top tier teams is important. We have very few opportunities, especially on the weekends, to get wins over quality teams.

This program is now relevant in the college baseball world on reputation only, not what the Shox are doing on the field. I do not want this program to fall into baseball obscurity and getting series wins over top tier teams will prevent us from doing so.

I understand it is early, but the season is now 20 percent completed and with a current RPI of 136 and a SOS of 249 we need to get wins over a team like Tulane who has an RPI of 9.

Having lost 3 out of the last 5 is sickening, and we need to go 2 -1 over Tulane.
