Well that sucks. That 4 spot Flynn gave up in the 6th was a killer, our Dreifort guy did not get the job done today. Lowell pitched good enough to win, the offense was horrible. Mid seventies wind blowing out and they muster pretty much nothing. Very frustrating. Got to bounce back and take care of business tomorrow.
THERE ARE FLOCKS OF BIRDS AND MANY A CAT ------ BUT ONLY ONE WUSHOCK!
7 walks, UTSA gave us, wow. No clutch hitting today. I agree Flynn's back to back poor outings is troublesome, he was supposed to be our shutdown reliever and he has been anything but the last two games.

We can always hope this loss in one of those baseball things where we failed at multiple facets of the game on the same day, and the better team didn't win.
By getting picked off by the catcher trailing 6-3 when your run doesn't mean anything and your two best power hitter are coming up?
Please...
+1
Absolutely. Sounded like Kevin did stumble a little bit, but still hard to put any kind of positive spin on that play. As it turned out, it took the bat of Coy's hands where a big fly could have tied the game. Perhaps a long shot, but at least a shot.
When you have one out in the 9th, are behind big in the score with a guy on first...what do you not want to have happen?
You do not want to get picked off or get caught stealing. No way are you even thinking about stealing so avoiding the DP is primarily the responsibility of the hitter in that situation.
What you are trying to do in that situation is get two runners on base with your "big boppers" coming up and a gale wind blowing out to left. Had he not been picked off that the Shocks would have gotten exactly what they were looking for..
P.S. - Whether it would have made any difference in the outcome is debatable. Springer failed. Coy's chance was taken away by the pick-off.
Odds are that the Shocks still lose the game.
Exactly why I wanted to keep the sweeps of Niagra and ND in perspective. This type of performance has been seen by all of us in the past few years all too often. Getting beat by a team who had only won 2 games coming into today's game is flat out embarrassing. We had no business losing one game in this small little invitational. Hope this was the last time this team gets whooped by an inferior opponent this season.

Easy killer.
a.) One of UTA's wins is over Dallas Baptist. A one-run loss to Oklahoma, overall, pretty competitive in all of their games.
b.) I wouldn't call losing 6-3 as getting "whooped".
c.) We aren't going undefeated. Even the good teams lose games to inferior opponents, especially early. Look at the Top 25 scores in the last two weeks and you'll get the idea.
d.) It's a bit frustrating but please don't go ape crazy over our first loss of the year.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
