Regardless, I agree with the sentiment that Creighton is clearly out right now. My only point in even referencing them relative to the bubble was to establish that they aren't horrible. It wasn't my intention to start a debate on the number of teams allowed to be called bubble teams at any given point in time.
For future reference, that number is 16. First four out, next four out, unlikely four, hallucinating four.

The last group usually includes UNI.

People fill up arenas for Nickelback concerts too.

You're missing the point: a disconnect between popularity of product, and historical quality of product.

People go to CU games because tickets - season or individual - are hilariously cheap. If WSU made IBA its home, and practically gave away tickets, we'd have a high average MBB attendence as well.

Comparatively, supply at CKA is tapped out. New season ticket holders are spending multiples of SASO annual minimums to get the chance to sit in the nosebleeds, and into the six figures - literally - to snatch up seats that come available in the lower bowl.

And we are successful. I think you are missing the point. How many other teams can fill up arenas if they literally gave away tickets? Even good programs in the Big XII can't fill up arenas and it's not like they're charging $50 a ticket. Watch a Baylor game. Watch most Big East games. I'm not saying Creighton is good because people watch them, I'm saying Creighton should be good because people watch them.

              • Team ('14-'15) Avg Attendance Capacity
                Texas 11,249 16,540
                UCLA 7,711 13,800
                Notre Dame 7,715 11,418
                Oklahoma St 7,897 13,611
                SMU 6,944 8,998
                Baylor 6,650 10,284
Those were all NCAA teams with tons of empty seats. Creighton averaged over 17,000 last year to watch a team that finished last place in the Big East and 14-19 overall. That was the #6 attendance figure in the country. The 5 teams that beat them? Syracuse, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.

Yes, WSU has impressive fans. Yes, WSU could have huge attendance numbers if tickets were cheap and the games were all played in a high capacity arena. WSU is a mighty strong measuring stick for any comparisons.

In terms of fan support, WSU is elite. Creighton is elite too. There is no reason the two must be mutually exclusive. All I'm hearing is hatred for Creighton disguising itself as analysis of their fan support.

You're using the term "watch" pretty loosely here.

If by "watch", you mean arrive 20 minutes late, go stand in a beer line for 20 minutes, socialize in one of the walk areas, talk about Nebraska football, and leave 20 minutes early to make sure you can make that 5 minute drive home in good fashion, then you'd be correct.

The media said it was the easiest bracket. Still no respect.

Maybe the big east wants to add WSU just to get its ratings up :)
