I would hope the coach has a discussion with the kid as his actions reflect poorly on the program.
It requires fewer words to simply say "I went to a Catholic school, and you offended me", FYI. I went to a parochial school for my first two grades of elementary school, if it makes you feel any better.

But if you insist on being mad about someone else's opinion, why don't you just go get hammered (assumably a pastime?), rather than equating a simple observation with the person of Fred Phelps.

      • So your observations during a couple of years of grade school lead you to the conclusion of "a lower degree of ethics, morals and general decorum". Fascinating. Are there other groups that don't quite cut the mustard with you? Just curious. You appear to be angry about something that happened in your life, move on, it's okay. I'm pretty sure people don't care about your "lessons on life" in a basketball forum.

I'm heading to the liquor store now, hopefully before it closes. Through your astute observations, what pray tell should I buy?

I just want to know if you made it to the liquor store on time. #Priorities

More life insurance? Prepayment for placement on a liver transplant list?

            Party of one too, amirite?

            • Moments ago, Tim Brando was on College Sports Nation. He said Creighton (14-6) is one of the most under valued college basketball teams.

Meh. I am seeing a 274 non-conference SOS on LiveRPI.com for sCUm. Prior to last year, it seemed that the selection committee frowned on things like that.

                • I'll give the Jayboys this: they've been better in league play than I expected.

Still, I look at that non-con schedule, and wow -- their only win against a team over .500 was vs. (who else?) Nebraska, and they lost at Loyola? Maybe that says they're undervalued, or maybe it says the Big East is almost as OVERvalued at the Big 12-2 is.

                  • I hear that winning at Seton Hall is a piece of cake. Creighton should be embarrassed to have only won by 15.

                    • Big East officials don't care who wins when it's BigEast vs BigEast.

Tim Brando is employed by FS1. FS1 has invested a butt load into the BIG EAST. He's gonna say outlandish stuff to help out his employer.

It's similar to Mark Adams saying DJ Balentine makes Michael Jordan look bad.

That's some Evansville, SIU, Illinois State style non-con scheduling.

You can take a Creighton out of the Valley, but you can't take the Valley out of a Creighton.

What's funny is that I've seen some Creighton posters recently brag-up the OU and ASU portion of their schedule, under the guise that those sort of H-H's have only come their way since they went [sarcasm]big time[/sarcasm] in the BE.

Below is the list of H-H's that WSU has secured in the 3.3G era:

                            Utah
                            Alabama
                            Tennessee
                            LSU
                            Texas Tech

                            plus...(wait for it Blowjays)

                            OU

and other generally decent teams like...

                            VCU
                            Seton Hall
                            Tulsa
                            SLU
                            UAB

Meanwhile, over the same period Creighton has been a willing visitor to places such as:

                            Loyola
                            North Texas
                            Long Beach State
                            Saint Joseph's
                            Arkansas-Little Rock
                            Drexel

Further, according to kenpom, our non-con SOS this season sits at 17th, while CU is dominating at 272nd. Last year it was 79th versus 296th. In 2014 it was 96th versus 150th. It goes on and on in recent history. Going back to kenpom's first season of analytics in 2002, CU has bested WSU's non-con in only 6 of 15 seasons - none of those have been recently. Just like in all other MBB contexts, CU is a mirage.

Your point is well taken, but I think you can remove VCU and Loyola from the discussion. Both were bracket buster opponents.
