recruiting to notre dame is much easier than recruiting to lawrence ks. even though ND has been pretty much irrelevant since holtz they have still gotten more than their fair share of talent no matter who was coaching them.

I would be surprised if this turns out to be a good hire. I would place a lot of money on him not coaching at K-yoohoo in 5 years.

I don't think many people imagine he will be there more than 5 years anyway. He's getting older, wants to teach his son to coach (he's coming with him), and besides if Weis leaves then more than likely he has rebuilt his reputation and KU is in a better spot.

How about recruiting to Manhattan, KS? Stillwater, OK (before Pickens barfed money all over the football program)? Columbia, MO? Waco, TX?

Lawrence is leaps and bound superior to those locations.* And that's who KU is wanting to beat.

*Columbia probably matches up closest with Lawrence, but it's in the middle of nowhere.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Columbia's problem is that it's in Missouri.

snyder still has to rely on an overabundance of jucos to win. and the talent he brings in stands on the sidelines every game. he has always had top notch assistants. waco is in texas, lawrence isnt. that's all that needs to be said about that. and they are still living on rgIII's talents. once he is gone see where they end up. misery has more population and a larger talent pool to choose from. pinkel has closed the borders up there fairly well. sure he loses some every year but not all of them like they used to. and if it took osu spending nasa's budget on the football program then i guess KU better start getting deeper pocketed boosters to finance everything.

as an aside, i like how you picked 2 mediocre programs, a program that is a retirement away from a return to 80's form, (ron prince showed the world that), and a program trying to buy it's way into relevance. nice aspirations they have for the football program at KU.

oh and weis sucked with 4 and 5 star talent. he'll be much worse with 2 and 3 star talent.

There is great commentary in your post, but it's difficult on the eyes and hard to read without proper capitalization.

I picked the programs that KU should be competing against for talent. KU will not compete with OU or Texas for talent in the near future. They may compete with Texas Tech. They should beat out the ones I mentioned, plus Iowa State.

Two things I am not sure you are aware of, based on your post:

                  1. Recruits can cross state lines

                  2. There's a key both on the left and right side of your keyboard called "shift."

                    lawrence is pot-hole city.
waco is nice little town that is warm all year round and is in texas.
columbia has wsu colors and their fans like wsu better than ku.

I don't know what to think about the Weis hire. Like it was said, he has no place to go but up. He can't live on his Superbowl rings forever, and his college records are not impressive. He better hire a good, and I mean real good, defensive coordnator, and he better recruit real good too to make a splash.

KU's improvement this year is mind boggling!! :tennis:
You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

It's actually quite noticeable. Their defense is much improved.

The offense still blows but hopefully the addition of Michael Cummings into the Roster as Starting QB will make a difference. Crist sucks.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

They can coach all they want, but without some speed they have no chance. OU could have named the score tonight. 52-7 makes it seem like it was close.
