Two years ago, a devout Pakistani cab driver told NightWatch that if Allah called him or any devout Muslim to go on jihad and to kill his family and even the riders in his cab, he must do it immediately. He made that statement calmly as a matter of fact, while driving north on US 1.
This was not the statement of an insane man, but of an educated man with a degree in engineering who was making ends meet; a devoted family man and a good cab driver. NightWatch asked whether the phone was ringing just now. He replied he did not yet hear the call.
The Fort Hood tragedy brought that conversation to mind.
interestingly, Nidal Hasan was adviser to the Homeland Security Policy Institute and they were providing advice to Barack transition team into White house.

This is incorrect. According to the Institute itself, the only contact Hasan had with the institute (a part of George Washington University) was that he RSVP'd to attend public lectures held there. He is not affiliated with the HSPI. Here is the statement.

Appendix C lists all the attendees of the events. I counted 306 total "participants." You'll note (if you take the time to actually look at the report instead of just parroting talking points) that the members of the task force itself, along with its steering committee and briefers, are all listed separately. Hasan does not appear on any of these lists. He's a nutjob who went to a lecture and has no more affiliation to the institute than that.
I'd be a lot more concerned about his emails to al-Qaeda affiliates than I would be about some imaginary briefing you think this guy gave the President.
A bit unrelated but the movie coming out friday, 2012, makes sure to not damage any Muslim holy sites. The reason is because the director didn't want a fatwa placed on him.
Roland Emmerich, the director of the 'end of days' disaster movie, had wanted to depict the destruction of Islam's holiest site, but was persuaded not to
