  • Deadly Shooting Rampage at Fort Hood

Is it time to keep a closer eye on Muslims in this country?

Major Malik Nadal Hasan, a muslim convert, kills 12 and wounds at least 30 in shooting rampage.

Not a bad idea at all.

Sounds like there were a lot of major warning signs ignored or not looked into throughly. When I guy considers suicide bombers heros...warning sign?

We know little so far of the terrible carnage at Fort Hood, though the news media have been airing all sorts of explanations and much of their information has already proven erroneous – which sadly has become standard whenever there is a crisis or a tragedy.

Personally, I am going to reserve judgment for a few days.

                  As always, brilliant commentary.

Sadly, when a tragedy like this occurs, there will be people wanting to blame someone, anyone, except the person that actually pulled the trigger.

As there occurs in everyday life, there is always error, someplace and sometime. That's why we are human. I am certain someone will find a breach in security somewhere along the line, a misread review, a washing of the hands or passing along of the Major because they were tired of dealing with him or someone called him a "towelhead" and they will be blamed for triggering this unspeakable tragedy.

But I sincerely hope all of this smoke and mirrors does not detract from the fact that a Radical Islamic Fundamentalist meticulously chose to murder 13 innocent American Heros and forever wound 30 more in attempt to force his religious beliefs upon others.

I've relocated this topic to the Politics thread.

Maybe the White House's "snitch site" should be expanded.

Would snitching on people who threaten the lives of American servicemen and women be nearly as important as snitching on those who dare to publicly oppose King Obama's health-care plan?

My question is how do they report someone dead, and then later they are alive? The gunman and first responder were reported dead yesterday afternoon, then both were reported alive last night.

Like the Minneapolis bridge collapse a few years back, there were 9 dead that day, then the next morning I think it was 5 dead. Do they check to actually see that the person is dead?

Maybe it's just me, but this always bugs me.

It should also be pointed out that a Radical Christian Fundamentalist recently gunned down someone inside a house of worship in an attempt to force his beliefs on others. Let's not forget that it's not only Islam that has radicals.
