The Donald's supporters are excellent at finding anyone to blame for this loss but the man himself.
Not sure why Paul Ryan would even want it. If I were him I would resign as Speaker on November 9th and let 'em have at it.

I would think that if Mitt Romney endorsed McMullin that would put him over the top. Just not sure if Mitt is ready to be ostracized by the Trumpidian Branch of the Republican Party.

Now taking suggestions for the name of the new party. "Conservative" doesn't count. That term is damaged goods, as well.

That will definitely offend the environmentalist since coal is in the name.

I'm sorry, but every time I see the title of this thread I want to go to McDonald's.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

                    I could get behind this.

As I previously mentioned Johnson/Weld (Libertarians) and Stein/Braka (Green Party Listed as Independents) are the 3rd parties on the ballot. There is also a space to write-in a candidate.

In Kansas, write-in votes are only counted if the candidate has filed a Affidavit of Write-In Candidacy with the Kansas Secretary of State by noon, October 31, 2016.

There are 2 candidates who filed timely affidavits and whose write-in votes will be counted. Evan McMullin (Independent) and Tom Hoefling (America's Party). Any other write-in votes will be discarded and not counted.

You can find this information for your state at this web site.

Arizona for example has 15 eligible write-in candidates and if you have heard of more than 2 of them you are a bona fide political junkie.

Does it cost money to file one of those affidavits?

Should it cost money to run for elected office?

I'm fine with minimal costs and minimal hurdles to help keep out prankster types. Not sure how to best define "minimal" though. Opinions will probably vary when trying to define it.
