It was a good day for Trump, but it wasn't the knock out blow that some thought it might be. He had trouble closing the deal.

Cruz had pretty good day. But this was favorable territory. It is not clear how he will fair in the next round.

I have revised my thoughts on Rubio with him winning Minnesota and almost winning VA. Had he won VA it would have been good day, overall it was fair. His negatives was he didn't meet the minimum thresholds in some states.

Carson and Kasich performed below their poll expectations. Carson already said he is going until he is broke. Kasich is of course staying in until Ohio at the very least or until a favorable deal is made.

I am starting to wonder if the deal is already in place - if Trump has already made the right pitch to him, it would explain his insistence on staying in until at least March 15. His presence probably wrecks MI for Rubio/Cruz and might be just enough to split the anti-Trumps into small enough factions in OH and IL, all of which are really challenging states for Trump based on returns in other Midwest states.

Hopefully this is wrong and he drops out quickly.
