Considering that parents have (or certainly should have) a vested interest that's much higher than anyone else, yes. Parental involvement trumps non parental involvement 49 times out of 50.

If 2 parents are involved, they don't have to live under the same roof. But I can't imagine that scenario accounts for any measurable amount of the issue (if that's the point you're making).

I have heard Ciaramella's name tossed out as a possibility of being the whistleblower for a couple of weeks now and while the evidence presented was pretty solid it was not and not sure it is yet determined as fact that this guy is the whistleblower. But he is certainly a prime suspect. In fact, I think more than likely he is the guy. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until all doubt is removed. He certainly seems like he is in the middle of everything.
