I agree that it is garbage if thats the case.
The left supports the hiring of non-indigenous employees. Wages are probably secondary to their primary concern of politicizing diversity. No?

Maybe, what if they were non-indigenous women wages?

A draft of an executive order to overhaul how companies hire international workers could inflame the tech industry. Here's why H-1B visas are such a big deal.

If he did this tomorrow, it would not be too soon for me.
I think it was last year I read a story about how Disney (yes, that Disney) was dumping American workers in favor of foreigners in the visa program, and making the Americans train their replacements, all because the foreigners cost less, even when factoring in the cost of sponsoring their visas.

It truly is a small world after all, when you work in the Disney universe.

Did you see the link on the right?

Investigation: Is Donald Trump a Time Traveller?

Now, here's the funny part. This is entire text of the article, including the title and byline:

INVESTIGATION: IS DONALD TRUMP A TIME TRAVELER?
Trump is the first president in a very long time to stay true to his promises

Trump continues to deliver on a daily basis during his first week as president.
That's some truly AMAZING "investigative" reporting.

If you want credibility, don't post links to Infowars, even if they happen to get it right.

And writing a lot of crappy code to figure out how it all works.
I tried to convince my kids to get certified in project management along with their major and never worry about employment again.

                None did

This reminded me of the spoof movie of Amazon Women on the Moon, where they were investigating if Jack the Ripper was, in fact, the Loch Ness Monster??

The show was called "Bullshit!? Or Not?"

Hilarious. I highly recommend that movie to my clients.

Not necessarily true, especially when it comes to IT. The company I work for eliminated the job of one of their best project manager simply because she was too expensive. The job went to a 'low-cost center' (outside the U.S.). She had over 20 years experience in IT project management.

I have talked to people in my department about lending my expertise to them on short projects on an as-needed basis (provided my business unit has the overhead to loan me out). He misunderstood my question as his response to me was that he could not accept a transfer into his business unit because, at my level, they could not hire US. They could hire people in Guadalajara, Mexico, Bangalore or Wroclaw, Poland. Note this is a US-based company.

Yes, and I posted the link to that story right here (perhaps not in this thread, but in another political thread). The companies involved IIRC were Tata and Cognizant. Wipro is another, as is Infosys. All India-based companies and some of the largest consumers of the 75K H1B visas awarded each year.

                      • H1B is a great program if used correctly, bringing the best and brightest talent to the US. Replacing your company's help desk guy with someone from India shouldn't qualify. Trump is a disaster but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Unfortunately that is the market today. But if she is as good as you say, I doubt she is out of work long. Consultants are the 21st Century nomads

I knew that Canada is the number one provider for petroleum products, but it also says we are exporting close to a million barrels a day to Canada. You might know more about this than I do, but I'm also open to hearing from other people. My guess is that it's not really a scenario where we are getting 3.75 million barrels a day from Canada and we're sending 1 million barrels a day back. In reality, there are some days we get 5 million from them, and other days we send 2 million to them. Is that right? If not, what is the purpose in importing 3.75 to export 1 million?

I say all of this to ask, why couldn't we just stop importing from SA and stop exporting to Canada? The amount we send to Canada is roughly what we are importing from SA. I'm sure this is a naive question, but I just really don't know too much about it.
i think the oil imported is refined, exported is straight crude. I could be wrong. There are so many regs around oil that it could just be a price issue in the US. I dont know enough.
